The move was procedural in order to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Triple-A Louisville callup Marcus Hatley, but Walden is still hopeful to return before the All-Star break after he began throwing last week. "Whatever they have me doing in there is pretty much my schedule," Walden told MLB.com. "Hopefully [returning] before the All-Star break would be awesome. That's what I'm shooting for." There is no word on what role Walden, who had a 0.87 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 10 innings prior to suffering the injury, will assume after making his return. Walden, who signed a two-year contract in December, had a 2.88 ERA and 62 strikeouts in 50 innings last season with the Atlanta Braves.
