Fri May 22 201509:32Jones and Ben Tate worked out for Cowboys on Thursday
Jones and Ben Tate worked out for the Cowboys on Thursday, The Dallas Morning News reports.
The Cowboys may want to add some competition for their in-house options to replace DeMarco Murray, but it's hard to imagine either Jones or Ben Tate would be of much use. Jones was out of the NFL in 2014, while Tate played for three different teams and looked entirely washed up. Even with owner Jerry Jones known to favor former Arkansas Razorbacks, it will be surprising if Jones gets a contract.
Tue Jul 1 201409:40Free agent Felix Jones hopes to play in 2014
Free agent RB Felix Jones believes he still has "some gas in my motor," and hopes to play this season.
"I know something is going to happen, I have a gut feeling," Jones said. Fragile Felix turned 27 in May and rushed for 184 yards on 48 carries (3.8 YPC) across a full 16-game schedule for the Steelers last season. Experienced in blitz pickup, Jones should be able to generate some looks once injuries pile up.

Sun Dec 29 201318:20Felix Jones finishes 2013 with 247 total yds
Felix Jones rushed twice for 11 yards in Pittsburgh's Week 17 win over the Browns.
Jones finishes 2013 with 48 rushes for 184 yards (3.8 YPC). He added nine catches for 63 yards. Never known for his durability, Fragile Felix made appearances in all 16 games. An impending free agent going on 27 years of age, Jones should be able to latch on somewhere in 2014.

Sun Oct 27 201319:54Felix Jones handles 3 touches in Week 8
Felix Jones lost a yard on his lone Week 8 carry, but caught two passes for 20 yards as the Steelers fell to the Raiders.
Jones is Le'Veon Bell's primary change-of-pace back, but would form a timeshare with Jonathan Dwyer if Bell went down. It leaves him without much value as a speculative handcuff or stash. Jones isn't worth owning in 12-team leagues.

Sun Oct 20 201319:27Felix Jones gets five carries in win
Felix Jones rushed five times for 16 yards and caught one pass for three yards in Sunday's Week 7 win over the Ravens.
Jones has solidified the change-of-pace role behind Le'Veon Bell, but that doesn't make him a handcuff. If Bell were to get hurt, Jones would be a committee back with Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman.

Sun Oct 13 201317:07Felix Jones handles 5 touches in Week 6
Felix Jones rushed five times for 18 yards and caught a 15-yard pass in the Steelers' Week 6 win over the Jets.
He's being utilized as a change-of-pace back behind Le'Veon Bell, which is a role in which Jones can (somewhat) excel. He's not an NFL lead runner. Jones' 15-yard catch came on a trickeration play, catching the ball from southpaw receiver Antonio Brown. Jones is only worth rostering in deep leagues.

Mon Sep 23 201300:48Felix Jones benched after second half fumble
Felix Jones had seven carries for 34 yards in Sunday night's Week 3 loss to the Bears.
Jones started and received the majority of carries in the first half, but was benched after a costly third quarter fumble and did not return. He added two catches for 13 yards and averaged a solid 4.9 yards-per-carry. Even if Jones starts next week, he'll continue to split carries with Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman. Le'Veon Bell has resumed practicing and will immediately regain his starting job when healthy.

Wed Sep 18 201308:29Felix Jones draws praise from coach Tomlin
Coach Mike Tomlin singled out Felix Jones for praise when discussing his team's scuffling offense.
Jones started Monday night's loss, rushing 10 times for 37 yards. "The running game was below the line," Tomlin said. "But I was encouraged by Felix Jones and what he'll be able to do moving forward. He knew when to bounce it and when to put his foot in the ground and get vertical." Isaac Redman -- who missed the beginning of the game after sustaining a head injury on the opening kickoff -- got just three carries and Jonathan Dwyer got one. It sounds like Tomlin is preparing to start Jones again in this week's game against the Bears. He'll be an extremely poor fantasy option.

Tue Sep 17 201300:31Felix Jones gets start, handles much of load
Felix Jones got the start in Monday night's Week 2 loss to the Bengals and rushed for just 37 yards on ten carries.
Isaac Redman was ticketed for the start, but he was injured on the opening kickoff and didn't return to action until the second quarter. Jones still saw plenty of action after Redman's return. Unofficially, we had Jones playing 38 snaps, Redman 18, and Jonathan Dwyer played two. Jones played on most passing downs. He's far off the fantasy radar. It's anyone's guess who will lead the backfield in touches next week against the Bears, but avoid them all.

Tue Sep 10 201319:48Tomlin: Felix doesn't know the offense yet
Coach Mike Tomlin says Felix Jones was held without a touch in Sunday's loss because he still isn't familiar enough with the Steelers offense.
Jones played just seven snaps, but still managed to botch a blitz pick up. With Jonathan Dwyer back in the fold behind Isaac Redman, Jones could easily go touch-less again in Week 2.

Sun Sep 8 201316:17Felix Jones barely plays in ugly loss
Felix Jones did not record a carry or catch in Sunday's Week 1 loss to the Titans.
Jones got one snap in the first half and blew a blitz pickup. He was subsequently benched. Felix didn't return to the game until Isaac Redman got himself benched for fumbling and LaRod Stephens-Howling left with a knee injury. Jones' NFL career is on thin ice with Le'Veon Bell (foot) nearing a return.

Tue Sep 3 201301:12Isaac Redman getting 1st-team RB reps
Isaac Redman confirmed he -- and not Felix Jones -- is practicing as the Steelers' first-team tailback this week.
A previous report indicated Jones would get the start, but he'd be lucky to see eight carries against the Titans. "I go out there with the first team, do the first four reps, that's normally what the starter does," said Redman following Monday's practice. "I'm just preparing as I'm the starter until they tell me otherwise." Redman hopes to receive "20, 25 carries" in Week 1, although that still seems like a pretty big long shot.

Sun Aug 25 201300:16Felix Jones manages 29 yards vs. Chiefs
Steelers RB Felix Jones rushed eight times for 29 yards in Saturday's third preseason game against the Chiefs.
Jones was held without a catch, but contributed 51 yards on two kick returns. Jones showed more giddy up than his unceremonious trade from the Eagles would suggest, but never took the rock farther than seven yards. He didn't touch the ball until near the end of the first half as Jon Dwyer operated as the Steelers' clear-cut No. 1 back. Jones has made a case to be a part of the Steelers' running-back committee until Le'Veon Bell (foot) returns, but he's miles from fantasy relevance.

Thu Aug 15 201313:10Paper doesn't expect Fragile Felix to make 53
The Philadelphia Inquirer doesn't project Felix Jones to make the Eagles' 53-man roster.
The Inquirer goes as far to say that Jones' "career might be over." The former first-round pick just turned 26 years old in May, but his explosion has been sapped. He's no higher than No. 4 on the depth chart, and the Eagles may keep just three backs. Jones rushed for 31 yards on eight carries in the preseason opener.

Sun Aug 4 201317:44Felix Jones having quiet training camp
Felix Jones "hasn't done anything to stand out" at Eagles training camp.
Jones is only 26 years old, but it's fair to wonder if the former Cowboys first-rounder's explosiveness has been lost for good. He's getting outplayed in Eagles camp by Chris Polk, and currently appears to be the No. 4 running back.

Tue May 14 201308:07Eagles take a one-year flier on Felix Jones
Eagles signed Felix Jones.
Under new coach Chip Kelly, the Eagles are going to run, run it again and run it some more. So even though "Fragile Felix" faceplanted after DeMarco Murray got hurt last year, taking a flier on a back that holds a career yards-per-carry average of 4.79 makes some sense. Jones figures to battle with Chris Polk and UDFA Miguel Maysonet for No. 3 duties behind LeSean McCoy and Bryce Brown. He can also help in the return game. It's somewhat reminiscent of the Eagles' 2011 free-agent signing of a declining Ronnie Brown. Brown ended up with just 42 carries on the season and then moved on.

Wed May 8 201318:39Felix Jones visiting Patriots on Wednesday
Free agent Felix Jones is visiting the Patriots on Wednesday.
The Fragile Felix world tour is in full effect, but it's impossible to see him as a fit for a team that's already five deep at running back. Jones visited the Eagles on Tuesday. He's finally working toward finding a new home, but it's unlikely to be either Philadelphia or New England.

Tue May 7 201316:00Eagles host Felix Jones for Tuesday visit
Free agent Felix Jones worked out for the Eagles on Tuesday.
It's probably just due diligence, as the Eagles are expected to let UDFA Miguel Maysonet and Chris Polk battle for No. 3 duties behind LeSean McCoy and Bryce Brown. It's Fragile Felix's second visit of free agency after he left Cincinnati without a deal in early April. Jones' injury history and recent dip in production is a toxic mix for a running back.
