Twins signed RHP Jason Bulger to a minor league contract.
We assume he'll also get an invite to spring training. Bulger, who turns 33 in December, appeared in five games with the Angels this season and has a 4.33 ERA and 138/75 K/BB ratio over 133 innings in the big leagues. He has regularly posted high strikeout totals, but has a very difficult time commanding the strike zone.

Bulger posted a 6.10 ERA and 11/7 K/BB ratio over 10 1/3 innings this spring, ultimately getting the nod over Francisco Rodriguez. The 32-year-old right-hander posted a 4.88 ERA and 25/15 K/BB ratio over 24 innings with the big club last season.

Bulger was shut down in early July due to inflammation in his throwing arm and has not made a quick recovery. He should be fine and healthy now, but the middle relieve had a 1.57 WHIP and 3.74 ERA before the injury.

Jason Bulger (shoulder) is on a rehab assignment but could be "weeks away from returning," according to the Orange County Register.
Bulger has been away from the big leagues since mid-June and the Angels don't want to rush him back in what has become a lost season. He's thrown 2 1/3 total innings at Triple-A Salt Lake, walking three and striking out four. The righty had a 1.57 WHIP before landing on the disabled list.

Jason Bulger was scheduled to have his right shoulder re-examined by Dr. Lewis Yocum after experiencing another setback in his throwing program.
According to Angels manager Mike Scioscia, Bulger has failed to make much in the way of progress during two recent bullpen sessions. The 31-year-old right-hander posted a 3.74 ERA over his first 22 appearances this season before going on the DL with shoulder fatigue last month.

Bulger has thrown off a mound several times and should be ready to head out for a few minor league outings by Wednesday or Thursday. On the disabled list since June 11 with right shoulder fatigue, he is hoping to return to the Halos' bullpen shortly after the All-Star break.

Jason Bulger threw off a mound this weekend for the first time since hitting the disabled list in mid-June with shoulder fatigue.
Bulger is eligible to return from the disabled list at any moment, but will probably spend the next week or so throwing bullpen sessions and may even participate in a few minor league rehab games. He had a 3.73 ERA, 23/15 K/BB ratio and 1.57 WHIP in 21-plus innings before the shoulder issue.
