Wed Jul 26 202312:26Casey Legumina Throws Side Session
Cincinnati Reds rookie right-hander Casey Legumina (head, shoulder) threw a side session on Tuesday that went well, according to manager David Bell. Legumina is currently in Arizona on a throwing program, but he had a mishap on July 18 when he was hit on the head by an errant throw. He skipped his throwing session due to a headache but was expected to be OK. Bell thinks Legumina might need a week to 10 days on a minor-league rehab assignment before he's activated from the injured list. The 26-year-old reliever allowed 11 runs (eight earned) on 15 hits while walking three and striking out 11 in 11 2/3 innings in his first 10 appearances out of the bullpen in the big leagues earlier this year.

Cincinnati Reds reliever Casey Legumina (ankle) landed on the 15-day IL on Sunday. The right-hander exited Saturday's meeting with the Marlins after taking a comebacker off the right ankle, resulting in a contusion. Legumina hasn't done much for fantasy managers in 2023, posting a 1-0 record with a 4.35 ERA and nine strikeouts in 10 1/3 innings. Cincinnati also announced that Nick Lodolo (calf) would join Legumina on the injured list.
