Dodgers signed LHP Ron Mahay to a minor league contract.
The deal also carries an invitation to spring training. As long as everything goes smoothly next month in Arizona and Mahay manages to stay healthy, he should be a member of the Dodgers' Opening Day bullpen. The 39-year-old held left-handed hitters to a .219/.239/.281 batting line in 2010.

Jayson Stark of ESPN.com reports that the Dodgers have reached agreement with free agent left-hander Ron Mahay.
Mahay will serve as a lefty specialist in the Los Angeles bullpen this season, and he should post good results. The 39-year-old southpaw finished with a strong 3.44 ERA and 25/8 K/BB ratio across 34 innings for the Twins in 2010 while holding left-handed batters to a .219 batting average.

Mon Dec 6 201016:46Mahay could be possibility for Mets
Andy Martino of the New York Daily News mentions Ron Mahay as an "interesting lefty reliever possibility" for the Mets.
It makes some sense. Mahay is willing to do a low-cost, one-year contract coming back from shoulder surgery and although it was a different regime, he considered joining the Mets last offseason. The 39-year-old southpaw posted a 3.44 ERA and 25/8 K/BB ratio over 34 innings with the Twins this past season and held left-handed batters to a .219 batting average.

Wed Aug 25 201015:26Twins move Mahay (shoulder) to 60-Day DL
Twins transferred LHP Ron Mahay to the 60-day disabled list.
This ends the 39-year-old's season and possibly his career. Mahay was the last replacement player in baseball, but carved out a little niche for himself by being able to consistently retire left-handed batters.
Mon Aug 23 201019:58Mahay (shoulder) likely done for year
Ron Mahay will likely miss the rest of the season due to a torn right rotator cuff.
He was diagnosed with the injury after undergoing an MRI on Monday. Mahay injured the shoulder while tumbling off the mound attempting to field a groundball on Saturday. The good news is that it's his non-throwing shoulder, but surgery would make his return unrealistic this season. The Twins could be in the market for a lefty reliever in the days ahead.

Twins placed LHP Ron Mahay on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right shoulder.
Mahay suffered the injury while stumbling off the mound Saturday. Because it's on his right side, it should be reasonable for him to return once his 15 days are up. The left-hander has a 3.44 ERA and 1.18 WHIP.
Sat Aug 21 201018:36Mahay lifted with apparent finger injury
Ron Mahay was pulled from Saturday's game with an apparent finger injury.
The left-handed reliever did not retire a batter, partly due to a Denard Span dropped fly ball, and was replaced by setup man Jon Rauch.

Twins purchased the contract of LHP Ron Mahay from Single-A Fort Myers.
Mahay signed a minor league contract with the Twins late in spring training and didn't make enough Grapefruit League appearances to warrant an Opening Day roster spot. Now with a few minor league outings under his belt, the 38-year-old will be inserted into a lefty specialist role.
Fri Apr 9 201001:53Twins' Mahay pitches at Fort Myers
Ron Mahay made his first appearance for Single-A Fort Myers on Thursday and pitched a hitless inning.
Mahay signed too late last month to make a serious run at a bullpen spot, but he could join the Twins sometime around the end of the month. He'll likely spend another week or two in Fort Myers before moving up to Triple-A.
