Tue Nov 29 201114:42Redskins sticking with Gano for now
Coach Mike Shanahan has absolved K Graham Gano of blame for a blocked 23-yard field goal as well as a blocked PAT and a kickoff that sailed out of bounds in Week 12.
There aren't any enticing options available on the street, so the Redskins will stick with Gano for now. It's worth noting that Shanahan suggested Gano's job was in line two weeks ago after missing a pair of kicks, so the leash isn't long.

Sun Aug 14 201116:27Gano may still have competition at kicker
Special teams coordinator Danny Smith indicated the Redskins have not "solved" the kicking situation, and may still sign a veteran to compete with Graham Gano.
Veteran Shayne Graham was released because he "wasn't the answer at kicker." Ouch. Gano is atop the depth chart because Graham kicked poorly, not because he's been impressive in his own right. This situation is fluid -- and one to avoid in fantasy leagues.

Sat Aug 13 201109:23Gano soundly wins round one against Graham
The Washington Times' Dan Daly expects Graham Gano to beat out Shayne Graham for the Redskins' kicking job.
Graham made a disastrous first impression in Washington's preseason opener against the Steelers on Friday, missing field-goal tries of both 29 and 49 yards. Gano sank all three of his attempts, which came from 32, 34 and 45 yards. Graham will have to be lights out from here on out to beat out the big-legged Gano, who is all but an assured touchback under the NFL's new kickoff rules.
