Thu Feb 1523:45Drey Jameson Not Expected To Pitch In 2024
Arizona Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said he doesn't expect right-hander Drey Jameson (elbow) to pitch in 2024 after having Tommy John surgery last September. Jameson will spend all year rehabbing with the hopes of being ready to go for the start of the 2025 regular season. The 26-year-old former first-rounder in 2019 out of Ball State made his big-league debut in 2022 and has posted a strong 2.63 ERA (4.17 FIP), a 1.31 WHIP, one save, 25 walks and 61 strikeouts in 65 innings over 19 appearances (seven starts) for the D-backs in the last two years. Jameson lost out on a starting role out of camp last spring but was very effective in a relief role in Arizona's bullpen. The Diamondbacks almost certainly want Jameson to pitch in a starting role in the long-term.

Sun Sep 17 202319:43Drey Jameson To Have Tommy John Surgery
Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Drey Jameson (elbow) will undergo Tommy John surgery to repair his UCL, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports. The 26-year-old has been out since early July with an elbow issue, and he'll surely miss all of the 2024 campaign. Over 15 appearances and three starts this year, Jameson posted a 3.32 ERA and 1.43 WHIP with 37 strikeouts across 40 2/3 innings. The former first-round selection also added one hold and one save to his ledger. Jameson wasn't relevant in most fantasy formats, so this news won't affect many fantasy managers.

Fri Jul 28 202321:48Drey Jameson Won't Have Surgery
Arizona Diamondbacks reliever Drey Jameson (elbow) will not have surgery on his UCL strain. The 25-year-old has a 3-1 record with a 3.32 ERA in 15 games this season. However, he has been on the shelf for a few weeks because of elbow inflammation, currently on the 60-day injured list. Skipper Torey Lovullo didn't know when the right-hander would return, so it's unknown if he'll be back on the bump in 2023.

Sat Jul 8 202313:45Drey Jameson Transferred To The 60-Day Injured List
Arizona Diamondbacks relief pitcher Drey Jameson (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list on Saturday. The former first-round pick was placed on the 15-day injured list on Friday with elbow inflammation but was quickly moved to the 60-day on Saturday, which doesn't bode well for his recovery. He will now be out until at least September and there's a good chance that his season is done at this point. The 25-year-old has posted a 3.32 ERA, 1.426 WHIP, and 37:18 K/BB ratio over 40 2/3 innings (15 appearances, four starts) on the year.

Sat May 27 202322:09Drey Jameson Recalled From Triple-A Reno
The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled pitcher Drey Jameson on Saturday. He will return to the big leagues after being optioned to Triple-A on April 24. The 25-year-old owned a 3.71 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, and a 16:12 K: BB across 17 innings between starting and relief appearances. Zach Davies (oblique) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list, while Brandon Pfaadt and Luis Frias were optioned to Triple-A in corresponding moves. Jameson would like to come out of the bullpen but could make an occasional start soon. Fantasy managers in deep-league formats can add Jameson, as he posted a 1.48 ERA and 1.11 WHIP over 24 1/3 innings for the Diamondbacks in 2022.

Mon Apr 24 202318:03Drey Jameson Likely To Be Sent To Minors
Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Drey Jameson appears to have been sent to the minors as his locker sits empty at Chase Field in Arizona. Jameson has struggled of late and the club needed to make a roster move to clear space for Monday's starter Tommy Henry who will toe the rubber in place of the recently designated-for-assignment Madison Bumgarner. Jameson has pitched to a solid 3.71 ERA in six appearances (three starts) on the season but has allowed five earned runs over just 4 2/3 innings over his last two starts with seven walks and four strikeouts in that time. Jameson also owns a 5.85 FIP and 16% BB% on the campaign as he's likely headed to Triple-A to regain his control and confidence for the time being.

Wed Apr 12 202318:57Drey Jameson Impressive On Wednesday
Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Drey Jameson was recently shifted from the bullpen to the starting rotation. The loss of veteran right-hander Zach Davies (oblique) has made an opening for Jameson in the starting rotation. The 25-year-old took full advantage of that during Wednesday's outing. He threw four shutout innings during Wednesday's win over the Milwaukee Brewers. It's a bit shocking the D-Backs didn't let Jameson keep going in this one. Regardless, Jameson looked sharp and should be on the fantasy radar right now.

Sun Apr 9 202319:58Drey Jameson Moving Into Starting Rotation
Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Drey Jameson will shift into the starting rotation, according to manager Torey Lovullo. This was expected to happen with Zach Davies (oblique) heading to the injured list. Jameson has been pitching in long relief for the D-Backs after failing to earn a rotation spot this spring. He has a 2.26 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, with a save across 8 1/3 innings of work. The 25-year-old looked extremely sharp during spring training. His first start should come against the Miami Marlins on Friday. Jameson should be rostered in all 12-team formats right now.

Sun Apr 9 202300:34Drey Jameson May Enter The Rotation
Arizona Diamondbacks relief pitcher Drey Jameson may enter the starting rotation. Zach Davies (oblique) exited Saturday's win over the Los Angeles Dodgers because of an oblique strain. Manager Torey Lovullo provided an update on Davies, indicating the righty could miss "weeks." While the skipper declined to specify who would take Davies' spot in the rotation, he didn't rule out Jameson getting some starts. The 25-year-old has played well in 2023, amassing a 2-0 record and a 2.16 ERA in 8 1/3 innings. Fantasy managers in deep formats may consider stashing Jameson, especially since he'll be an enticing option if his role changes.

Sat Apr 8 202310:50Drey Jameson Picks Up Win Over Dodgers
Arizona Diamondbacks relief pitcher Drey Jameson earned a win on Friday night over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the team's 6-3 victory. Jameson went 2 1/3 innings in relief of starter Madison Bumgarner and didn't allow a hit or a run while walking one and striking out one. The 25-year-old right-hander has now won two games and picked up his first career save in his first three appearances out of the bullpen in 2023. The D-backs chose to keep Jameson in the bullpen in a multi-inning role instead of sending him to the minors after he missed out on a starting rotation spot out of spring training, and the decision is paying off. He'll need to start issuing fewer free passes (five walks in 8 1/3 innings), but for now he's worth a look in deep holds leagues.

Wed Apr 5 202308:22Drey Jameson Closes Out Tuesday's Victory
Arizona Diamondbacks reliever Drey Jameson pitched the final two innings of Tuesday's 8-6 win over the San Diego Padres to earn his first save of the season. He allowed three hits, a walk, and a run but struck out two. Jameson now owns a 3.00 ERA with seven strikeouts across six innings of work after posting a 1.48 ERA with a 24.5% strikeout rate over 24.1 innings in 2022. The save comes a day after Scott McGough blew a chance against the Padres on Monday. The 33-year-old McGough is probably still the front-runner, but look for Jameson to continue getting opportunities when the former is unavailable or if he continues to falter.

Thu Mar 23 202320:35Drey Jameson Roughed Up On Thursday
Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Drey Jameson was roughed up on the mound during Thursday's Cactus League matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The right-hander is battling Ryne Nelson for the final spot in the Diamondbacks rotation. The 25-year-old didn't have his best outing, allowing four runs over 4 1/2 innings on Thursday. Despite that, Jameson struck out seven batters to bring his spring total to 19 strikeouts. This battle for the fifth-spot could really come down to the wire.
