1B Clint Robinson hit his first major league walk-off homer with one out in the last of the ninth off Mark Lowe on Monday. Robinson thought it was the eighth inning when Dusty Baker sent him up to the plate. "You lose track of the inning sometimes" in the tunnel when preparing to pinch-hit, Robinson said. "I really wasn't worried about the inning. I am just looking for a fastball in the zone I can drive." The homer came on a night when several media outlets reported that Washington's Stephen Strasburg, the starting pitcher Monday, had agreed to a seven-year contract extension for the Nationals. The San Diego native was set to become a free agent after this season. "That would be great. That would be awesome," said Robinson, when told of the reports.

Sat Sep 19 201513:40Robinson of lineup Saturday against Marlins
Robinson is of the lineup Saturday against the Marlins.
Robinson has been serving as the Nats' everyday first baseman since Ryan Zimmerman went down with an oblique injury earlier this month, but he'll take a seat Saturday with the Marlins bringing a lefty in Justin Nicolino. Tyler Moore gets the nod at first base.

Robinson was 2-for-3 with a pair of walks and a solo home run in the Nationals' win over the Marlins on Friday night.
He launched his eighth home run of the season off of Jose Fernandez in the first inning, and is now hitting a solid .279 with 32 RBI. Typically more of a role player, Robinson is getting regular playing time with Ryan Zimmerman still out of the lineup, and he could provide some useful fantasy production as long as he remains in the everyday lineup.

Robinson had been away from the team for the previous three games after his wife gave birth to the couple's child. He'll return to the lineup Monday, manning first base and hitting fifth behind cleanup man Jayson Werth.

Robinson could be placed on the paternity list in the coming days as he and his wife are expecting the birth of their first child "any day now," Bill Ladson of MLB.com reports.
Robinson hasn't been much of a fixture in Washington's lineup of late, playing just two full games in September. In limited action this month, he's batted .357 with five RBI and five walks. He could miss Washington's upcoming series against the Marlins if he is placed on the paternity list, however.

Robinson went 2-for-4 with a walk and four RBI in Thursday's 15-1 defeat of the Braves.
Robinson received his first start in five games while Michael Taylor sat out with right knee soreness to open up a spot in the lineup. Taylor's injury isn't considered significant, so Robinson figures to see his at-bats diminish once the center fielder returns to full health. The Nationals don't have many alternatives in center beyond Taylor now that Denard Span (hip) is out for the season, so even though Robinson has produced more value at the plate this season with a .358 on-base percentage, Taylor appears poised to see action ahead of him.

Robinson smacked a two-run, pinch-hit homer in Sunday's win over the Marlins.
The Nationals clung to a one-run lead before Robinson's blast provided all the breathing room the bullpen needed to salt the game away. Robinson has now homered in consecutive games, and though he still remains confined to a bench role, he could receive a slight uptick in at-bats the rest of the way now that Denard Span is out of the mix for regular duty in the outfield following season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum.

Robinson got the start in left field Saturday and went 1-for-3 with a two-run shot, his sixth home run of the season.
Playing time has been scarce for Robinson lately, but with Bryce Harper potentially being pushed into duty in center field due to injuries to Denard Span (hip) and Michael Taylor (knee), Robinson could see a short-term boost in at-bats until Taylor is ready to rejoin the starting lineup.
Sat Aug 22 201517:10Robinson scratched from Saturday's starting lineup
Robinson was scratched from Saturday's starting lineup, Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post reports.
Jayson Werth was scheduled for a day off, but he reported feeling good upon his arrival to the ballpark and seemingly talked his way into the lineup. Robinson will sit with Werth now slated to play left field, marking his 14th time on the bench in 21 August games.
