Tue Mar 2620:02Huascar Brazoban Placed On Restricted List
The Miami Marlins placed right-hander Huascar Brazoban on the restricted list on Tuesday after he never reported to spring training due to visa issues. The move opens up a spot on Miami's 40-man roster. In his second major-league season with the Fish in 2023, Brazoban appeared in 50 games out of the bullpen and posted a 4.14 ERA (3.94 FIP) with a 1.43 WHIP, 31 walks and 65 strikeouts in 58 2/3 innings pitched. The 34-year-old Dominican could still pitch at some point for the Marlins in 2024, but considering the fact he missed all of spring training, he'll have to start his season in the minor leagues and work his way back to the big-league bullpen.

Fri Feb 1612:56Huascar Brazoban Held Up Due To Visa Issues
Miami Marlins right-hander Huascar Brazoban has not yet reported to camp due to visa issues. Elvis Alvarado and Johnny Pereda are also in the same situation. The 34-year-old Brazoban should be able to earn a roster spot in Miami's bullpen to begin the 2024 regular season as long as he's healthy after he went 5-2 with a 4.14 ERA (3.94 FIP) and 1.43 WHIP with 31 walks and a career-high 65 strikeouts in 58 2/3 relief innings in his second big-league season with the Marlins in 2023. However, Brazoban won't be worth looking at in fantasy leagues for the time being.

Mon Aug 14 202314:59Huascar Brazoban Going On Injured List
The Miami Marlins are placing right-hander Huascar Brazoban (hamstring) on the 15-day injured list on Monday with a left-hamstring strain and recalling pitcher Bryan Hoeing from the minors in a corresponding move. Brazoban will now be out until at least Aug. 29 after injuring his left hamstring during a relief appearance against the New York Yankees on Sunday. The 33-year-old Dominican reliever has gone 4-2 on the season with a 4.29 ERA (4.15 FIP), 1.46 WHIP, 31 walks and 60 strikeouts in 56 2/3 innings in just his second major-league season. Brazoban has some fantasy appeal in deeper leagues for his ratios and his 10.2 K/9 over 88 2/3 frames in 75 relief appearances the last two years.

Fri Jun 23 202312:09Huascar Brazoban Picks Up Win Over Pirates
Miami Marlins relief pitcher Huascar Brazoban picked up his second win of the season in the team's 6-4 win over the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. Brazoban entered the contest with a runner on base and two outs in the eighth inning and retired the only batter he faced in one-third of an inning to pick up the victory. Left-hander A.J. Puk came on in the ninth to secure his 10th save of the season after the Fish put up a five-run rally in the bottom of the eighth inning to take the lead. The 33-year-old Brazoban has had three scoreless outings out of the bullpen since a brief demotion to Triple-A Jacksonville earlier this month. He now has a 3.65 ERA (3.79 FIP), 1.40 WHIP, 18 walks and 40 K's in 37 relief innings in his second MLB season.

Miami Marlins right-handed reliever Huascar Brazoban had an impressive showing out of the bullpen in the team's 6-3 loss to the Atlanta Braves on Thursday, allowing two hits and no runs while walking none and striking out four in only 1 1/3 innings. So far in just his second major-league season for the Fish, Brazoban has allowed five runs on 17 hits (one homer) while walking three and striking out 23 in 19 relief innings over 13 outings out of the bullpen.
