Sun Jun 1 201411:24Ravens could give FA Eric Winston a look
Profootballtalk expects the Ravens to give free agent RT Eric Winston a "look-see."
Now that June 1 has arrived, unsigned players are now classified as "street" free agents and won't factor into the 2015 compensatory picks equation. Veterans like Winston, DT Kevin Williams, RB Ronnie Brown, and CB Terrell Thomas could find homes for at least the summer shortly. Winston has a history with Ravens OC Gary Kubiak from their Texans days, and Baltimore needs a right tackle.

Mon Apr 28 201408:56Ravens could look at RT Winston after draft
The Ravens could look at free agent RT Eric Winston if they don't select a right tackle early in the draft.
It's a logical fit that keeps coming up because Winston was Gary Kubiak's starting right tackle for five seasons in Houston. Kubiak is now Baltimore's offensive coordinator. The 30-year-old Winston would serve as competition for in-house candidate Ricky Wagner -- assuming they pass on a tackle like Notre Dame's Zack Martin or Michigan's Taylor Lewan at No. 17 overall.

Sat Apr 19 201416:28Ravens not interested in Eric Winston
Coach John Harbaugh confirmed the Ravens have not had any contract talks with free agent RT Eric Winston.
The Ravens currently have just Ricky Wagner as an in-house option to replace Michael Oher, but 30-year-old Winston wouldn't be much of an upgrade at this point. ESPN's Jamison Hensley expects Baltimore to target a right tackle early in the draft.

Sun Mar 30 201412:03FA Eric Winston wants to sign before draft
Free agent RT Eric Winston wants to sign with a team before the draft.
As would all veteran players left on the market. Winston prefers to remain with the Cardinals but admits talks haven't been "super positive." Some believe Winston's new title as NFLPA president may be working against him.

Fri Mar 28 201409:30FA Eric Winston generating some interest
Free agent RT Eric Winston said a few teams have expressed interest in him.
Winston, 30, says he's being selective. Working against him is that he's a right tackle only and doesn't offer much versatility. The new NFLPA president started all 16 games on the right side for Arizona last season, surrendering seven sacks. At 6-foot-7 and 302 pounds, Winston is a natural in zone-blocking systems.

Thu Mar 20 201408:31New prez Winston: 18-game will never happen
New NFLPA president Eric Winston guaranteed that an 18-game season will not happen under his watch.
"It's a safety issue," Winston said. The free agent tackle did allow that he and the player union are open to the idea of adding one playoff team to each conference, thus creating six total games on Wild Card Weekend. That change appears likely to be implemented for the 2015 season.

Wed Mar 19 201413:09FA RT Eric Winston elected NFLPA president
Free agent RT Eric Winston has been elected the new president of the NFL Player union.
Winston succeeds Domonique Foxworth, who did not seek reelection. Winston beat out free agent FS Ryan Clark and Saints TE Ben Watson for the position. The 30-year-old has been an active union member since 2010 and was a leading voice for the players during the 2011 lockout. Winston is currently our No. 5 free-agent tackle available. He started all 16 games for Arizona last season.

Thu Jul 25 201308:08Cardinals add RT Eric Winston on 1-year deal
Cardinals agreed to terms with RT Eric Winston on a one-year contract.
The top offensive tackle left on the street is finally off the board. Although the 29-year-old Winston has been released in each of the last two offseasons, he brings 103 NFL starts to the table and was a top-nine right tackle in Pro Football Focus' grades last year. He'll start at right tackle, allowing Bobby Massie to move inside to right guard. Nate Potter will enter a camp duel with consistently disappointing Levi Brown for the starting left tackle job. The Cardinals' offensive line is still a bottom-five unit, but they got better by adding Winston.

Wed Jul 24 201320:33Report: Arizona close to signing Eric Winston
Profootballtalk.com reports the Cardinals are "closing in" on a one-year deal with free agent RT Eric Winston.
Mike Florio adds that the deal could be completed within "the next 24 hours." The Cardinals' tackles were shoddy at best last season, and there have been recent reports that LT Levi Brown's play in the spring left a lot to be desired. Incumbent right tackle Bobby Massie has taken some reps on the left side this summer, and a Winston signing may be a way of putting Brown on notice.

Tue Jun 25 201312:01Eric Winston a fit for the Falcons?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution suggests free agent RT Eric Winston as a fit for the Falcons.
Winston is battling a sharply deflated right tackle market, so perhaps he'll be willing to lower his contract demands soon. He's 30 years old and has been released in each of the last two offseasons. If the Falcons can get Matt Ryan a new contract and free up a little space, adding Winston would make some sense. Unproven incumbents Mike Johnson and Lamar Holmes are set to battle for the starting right tackle job in camp.

Sat Jun 22 201320:39Redskins not showing interest in RT Winston
The Redskins "haven't shown any interest" in free agent RT Eric Winston.
Winston has been linked to the Redskins in each of the last two offseasons because of his ties to Kyle Shanahan, but is still holding out for guaranteed money and hasn't generated any interest since before the draft. If he lowers his asking price, Winston could be an option for the Redskins as an upgrade over Tyler Polumbus.

Tue May 14 201312:08Redskins passed on Winston due to price
The Redskins haven't made an effort to sign free agent RT Eric Winston this offseason.
Winston has been linked to the 'Skins in each of the last two offseasons because he played for Kyle Shanahan in Houston. Now Shanahan is running the same blocking scheme in Washington. The Washington Post says that Winston's price tag seems to have a lot to do with their lack of interest right now.

Tue Apr 30 201317:36Eric Winston working out for Dolphins Weds.
Free agent RT Eric Winston is working out for the Dolphins on Wednesday.
The sides have been talking on the phone for over a month, but might finally be ready to go steady. Winston is just the latest in a parade of post-draft tackle visits to South Beach, joining Tyson Clabo, Winston Justice and Bryant McKinnie. The Dolphins are either trying to leverage the Chiefs in Branden Albert talks, or are ready to move on and install a veteran opposite potential LT Jonathan Martin.

Mon Apr 29 201316:15Titans host Eric Winston
The Titans hosted RT Eric Winston for a free-agent visit on Monday.
The match makes sense if the Titans had designs on cutting David Stewart, who is one of the highest paid right tackles in football. Stewart is still playing at a high level, though. It's unclear if Winston received a contract offer.

Mon Apr 29 201308:49Dolphins GM expects to sign veteran tackle
Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland expects to sign a veteran free agent at tackle.
The Dolphins have reportedly maintained a "steady dialogue" with free agent Eric Winston. "There are some options out there," Ireland said. "I have some things up my sleeve that might work out. We're going to have to fill the need probably with a veteran guy on the street at some point." Martin wouldn't be a viable candidate at left tackle. Ireland hasn't closed the door on acquiring Kansas City's Branden Albert.

Tue Apr 16 201317:25Stephen Jones: 'Boys still eyeing RT Winston
Executive VP Stephen Jones says the Cowboys are still interested in free agent RT Eric Winston.
"He's obviously somebody that we're taking a look at," Jones said in a Tuesday radio interview. Jones made sure to add "we certainly haven't dismissed Doug (Free)." The Cowboys and Winston have been dancing for over a week, but haven't come close to an agreement. They won't until Winston's price comes down.
