Thu Apr 2521:20Brenton Doyle Fills The Scoresheet Thursday
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle was all over it on Thursday as part of a 10-9 win over the visiting San Diego Padres. The 25-year-old went 3-for-4 with a walk, an RBI, three runs scored, and two stolen bases on the day, scoring the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning, as well. The massive outing raised his average to a hefty .330 on the season while he has three homers, four stolen bases, 16 runs scored, and an .898 OPS across 25 games and 97 trips to the plate. Doyle flashed signs of a nice power and speed combination with 10 homers, 16 doubles, five triples, and 22 stolen bases across 126 games in his rookie season in 2023 but also hit just .203 and struck out in 35% of his plate appearances. He has just five walks against 28 strikeouts on the season but remains a solid fantasy asset if he continues to provide value in the power and speed departments.

Mon Apr 2217:28Brenton Doyle Back In Monday's Lineup
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (chest) is back in center field and is batting seventh on Monday against the visiting San Diego Padres and right-hander Dylan Cease. The Rockies held Doyle out as a precaution for the second game of a doubleheader on Sunday against the Seattle Mariners after he suffered a chest injury in Game 1. The 25-year-old has limited fantasy upside while hitting down near the bottom of Colorado's batting order, but that hasn't taken away from his hot start in 2024. The former fourth-rounder in 2019 from Shepherd University his hitting .289 (22-for-76) with three home runs, seven RBI and two stolen bases. Doyle is hitless so far in two career at-bats against Cease.

Mon Apr 2212:51Brenton Doyle Looks To Be OK
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (chest) looks to be OK after suffering a chest bruise in Game 1 of a doubleheader on Sunday. As a precaution, the Rockies scratched Doyle from the lineup for the second game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Seattle Mariners. The 25-year-old is expected to be fine for the upcoming series against the San Diego Padres, which starts on Monday, so fantasy managers will want to check back later to see if he's back in the lineup. Even if Doyle takes another game off on Monday, he should be able to avoid a stint on the injured list. The former fourth-round pick in 2019 out of Shepherd University has looked good in his second MLB season so far, going 22-for-76 (.289) with three home runs, seven RBI and two stolen bases in 21 games. Get Doyle back into your lineups if he returns on Monday.

Thu Feb 2223:53Brenton Doyle Puts On 20 Pounds Of Weight
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle has put on 20 pounds of good weight since the end of the 2023 season. In his first major-league season last year, Doyle struggled with a .203 batting average (81-for-399) and a .250 on-base percentage, but he also managed to club 10 home runs, drive in 48 runs and steal 22 bases in 126 games over 431 plate appearances as the team's center fielder. The 25-year-old struck out over 30 percent of the time, which is why he barely hit over the Mendoza Line, but at hitter-friendly Coors Field, Doyle's power/speed combination is intriguing. His elite glove in the outfield should keep him in Colorado's lineup on a daily basis, and if he can start making more contact, Doyle will certainly attract the attention of fantasy managers in mixed leagues.

Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the San Francisco Giants. The 25-year-old doesn't appear to be dealing with an injury, so his absence is likely for rest purposes. Doyle has struggled this season, but has actually been hitting better lately. He is 5-for-20 with four RBI since the beginning of September. Sean Bouchard, Nolan Jones and Hunter Goodman will cover the outfield for Saturday's contest.

Mon May 29 202313:59Brenton Doyle Returns Against Diamondbacks
Colorado Rockies rookie outfielder Brenton Doyle (knee) is back in center field and is hitting eighth in the starting lineup on Monday against right-hander Ryne Nelson and the Arizona Diamondbacks. Doyle bruised his right knee during a collision with the outfield wall late last week and missed the team's last three games over the weekend. The dynamic 25-year-old outfielder has been productive for the Rockies so far in his first 26 major-league games, going 18-for-75 (.240) with three doubles, a triple, four home runs, 14 RBI, seven stolen bases and 14 runs in 80 plate appearances. He also has a whopping 29 strikeouts, but Doyle has intriguing upside in an everyday role for fantasy managers because of his power and speed.

Sun May 28 202313:20Brenton Doyle Still Absent From The Lineup On Sunday
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (knee) is absent from the lineup for Sunday's series finale against the New York Mets. Doyle has not appeared in a game since Thursday when he ran into the center-field wall and exited early. The Rockies are hoping that the 25-year-old will avoid the injured list, but that's still to be determined. Doyle exploded out of the gates after he was called up in late April and put together a .240/.288/.467 batting line to go along with four home runs, 14 RBI, and seven stolen bases over 75 at-bats.

Fri May 26 202316:51Nolan Jones Recalled, Brenton Doyle Not Expected To Go On IL
The Colorado Rockies will recall corner infielder/outfielder Nolan Jones from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday and option first baseman Michael Toglia to Albuquerque in a corresponding move. The belief is rookie outfielder Brenton Doyle (knee) won't land on the 10-day injured list after injuring his knee during a crash into the outfield wall on Thursday. Doyle, a dynamic 25-year-old outfielder may miss a few games, but fantasy managers have to be happy that he's expected to miss considerable time. Jones, meanwhile, could be worth a waiver-wire pickup in deeper leagues if he sees enough playing time in Colorado. The left-handed hitter was batting a strong .356 (53-for-187) with 13 doubles, two triples, 12 home runs 42 RBI and five steals across 39 games for the Isotopes before his call-up.

Thu May 25 202319:37Brenton Doyle Suffers Knee Contusion
Colorado Rockies manager Bud Black said that he thinks rookie outfielder Brenton Doyle (knee) is going to be OK after he was carted off the field in Thursday's game against the Miami Marlins with a knee contusion that he suffered during a collision with the outfield wall. The team is hoping Doyle will avoid the injured list. The 25-year-old, who is the team's No. 14 prospect per MLB Pipeline, went 1-for-4 with an RBI, walk and two strikeouts in the game before departing. Doyle entered the day with a .239 average (17-for-71) with three doubles, a triple, four home runs, 13 RBI and seven stolen bases in his first 24 major-league games. The dynamic young outfielder should continue to see everyday at-bats for the rebuilding Rockies, and hopefully he won't miss much time, if any.

Sat May 20 202316:16Brenton Doyle Absent On Saturday
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Texas Rangers. It appears the 25-year-old is getting a routine day off here, so fantasy managers don't need to worry about an injury. Doyle has been fairly successful during his limited action this season. He's slashing .237/.274/.508 with four homers, 11 RBI and six stolen bases in 17 games. Fantasy managers should expect him back in the lineup for their next game.

Thu May 18 202317:25Brenton Doyle Continues Unlikely Rookie Run
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle went 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI, and two runs scored in a win over the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday. The 25-year-old is making a case as a dark-horse NL Rookie of the Year candidate during the season's early goings. He ranks inside the top-50 in average value in mixed roto leagues this year while hitting .255 with six stolen bags, four homers, 11 RBI, and 13 runs scored over 55 at-bats. Doyle's upside is limited while operating from the lower-third of the Rockies lineup, but it's becoming remiss to ignore him deeper formats. Colorado's number-16 prospect will need to stave off the incumbent Randal Grichuk, though, for consistent playing time. Watch Doyle on waivers closely this weekend against the Texas Rangers and beyond to see if he's a mirage or perhaps something more.

Wed Apr 26 202312:50Brenton Doyle Records Three Hits, Steals Two Bases Tuesday
Colorado Rockies rookie outfielder Brenton Doyle went 3-for-4 with a double, RBI, run scored, two stolen bases and a strikeout in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Cleveland Guardians on the road. It was just Doyle's second major-league game, and he got the start in center field and hit eighth in the batting order. The 24-year-old outfielder went hitless in his MLB debut on Monday. Although the Rockies could send him back to the minors when Randal Grichuk (hernia) is ready to return from the injured list, fantasy managers in deeper leagues may want to consider adding Doyle for the short term for his power/speed combination, especially when playing home games at hitter-friendly Coors Field.

Mon Apr 24 202312:11Rockies Calling Up Brenton Doyle
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle, the team's No. 16 prospect per MLB Pipeline, is expected to be called up to join the team for their series-opening game on Monday night against the Cleveland Guardians. Doyle is hitting .306 with a 1.037 OPS for Triple-A Albuquerque and has played all three outfield spots. The 24-year-old right-handed hitter also has a double, five home runs, eight RBI, a stolen base and 12 runs scored in 12 games for the Isotopes this year. He could see decent playing time in Colorado if Kris Bryant lands on the injured list this week, making Doyle worth a look in NL-only and deep-mixed leagues. Doyle has plus raw power, but strikeouts could be an issue for him in his MLB debut.
