Thu Apr 2 201515:21Smith has agreed to one-year deal with Broncos
Smith has agreed to a one-year deal with the Broncos, ESPN.com reports.
The 33-year-old Smith, who recorded 20 tackles and three sacks in his only season with the Raiders, is slated to earn $2 million in 2015, per the report. With the Broncos, he'll be reunited with head coach Gary Kubiak, who Smith played for (with Houston) between 2009 and 2013. Look for Smith to bolster the Denver pass rush, but his modest tackle numbers restrict him to fantasy utility in deeper formats.
Tue Mar 31 201515:18Smith released by Raiders on Tuesday
Smith was released by the Raiders on Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Smith had a quiet 2014 season in Oakland, recording his lowest sack total (3.0) since 2006, with only 20 tackles to boot. Now 33 years old, he may have to settle for work as a rotational lineman, even though his ancillary pass-rushing statistics indicate that he probably should have had more than three sacks.
Sat Aug 2 201418:43Smith (groin) returned to practice Saturday
Smith (groin) returned to practice Saturday, Scott Bair of CSNCalifornia.com reports.
The groin injury forced Smith from Wednesday's practice and he was not on the field Friday, but it seem the Raiders were just exercising caution after the 32-year-old underwent sports hernia surgery in the offseason. Smith is expected to start at right defensive tackle for the Raiders.

Sat May 3 201416:50Antonio Smith to play Lamarr Houston role
ESPN's Paul Gutierrez confirms the Raiders plan to use Antonio Smith at defensive tackle this season.
Smith was a 3-4 end with the Texans, but will move inside in Oakland's base 4-3. The Raiders are expected to use Smith in a Lamarr Houston role, allowing him to focus on creating pressure as an interior pass rusher. Smith has 27 sacks over the last five seasons, but is a liability against the run.

Fri Mar 14 201419:55Raiders sign Antonio Smith for 2-year, $9 mil
Raiders sign DL Antonio Smith, formerly of the Texans, to a two-year, $9 million deal.
Smith racked up 27 sacks over the last five seasons playing right end in Houston's 3-4 scheme, but may have to move inside in the Raiders' base 4-3 defense. Even at 32, Smith is an above average interior pass rusher and, along with new additions LaMarr Woodley and Justin Tuck, should improve an Oakland pass-rushing unit that struggled to get to the quarterback in 2013.

Tue Mar 11 201418:23FA DL Antonio Smith to visit four teams
Free agent DE Antonio Smith will visit the Redskins before also making trips to St. Louis, Tennessee, and Oakland.
Washington gets the first crack at the the 32-year-old. He can play in either a 3-4 or 4-3 defense but has spent the past five seasons in Houston's 3-4 scheme as the right end. The Redskins could stand to upgrade at both end spots over Stephen Bowen and Jarvis Jenkins. The Titans are implementing a 3-4.

Mike Jurecki of XTRA 910 Phoenix reports free agent DL Antonio Smith is drawing interest from the Falcons, Panthers, and Bucs.
The NFC South is hot after Smith, who also hasn't closed the door on a return to Houston. Smith, 32, can play in both 4-3 and 3-4 defenses as an interior pass rusher. He's racked up a respectable 27 sacks over the last five seasons.

Mon Mar 10 201408:31Antonio Smith has 2 visits lined up
Free agent DE Antonio Smith reportedly has two visits lined up and four teams interested.
Smith's market has been nothing but crickets so far, so his agent is stirring the pot on the eve of free agency. Still, we're not surprised there's significant interest. Although Smith is 32 years old, he's missed a total of two games over the last five seasons while picking up 27 sacks during that span. He's an asset as a pass rusher and can play both the end spot in a 3-4 and tackle in a 4-3.

Mon Dec 16 201316:56Texans RE Antonio Smith has sprained knee
Texans RE Antonio Smith suffered a sprained knee in Sunday's loss to the Colts.
The severity of Smith's injury is unclear. For now, he should be considered day to day. Smith is having a fine season opposite J.J. Watt, notching five sacks while grading out as the No. 13 3-4 end in Pro Football Focus' ratings.

Fri Aug 23 201314:13NFL denies Antonio Smith's appeal
The NFL has denied the appeal of Texans RE Antonio Smith's suspension.
The "suspension" is for two preseason games and the season opener, though only the latter is meaningful. Preseason suspensions are a joke. Smith, 31, will be back in Week 2. Although Smith is an effective player, the Texans shouldn't miss a beat with Jared Crick or Tim Jamison starting against the Chargers.

Wed Aug 21 201323:12Antonio Smith's appeal to be heard Thursday
Texans RE Antonio Smith will have his suspension appeal heard Thursday.
The NFL will rule on Smith's appeal before Sunday's preseason matchup between the Texans and Saints. Smith was suspended for the remainder of the preseason and the Week 1 opener for ripping off Dolphins LG Richie Incognito's helmet and swinging it at Incognito's head in last weekend's exhibition. We highly doubt Smith will win his appeal. He'll sit out the opener versus San Diego.

Tue Aug 20 201313:48Texans RE Smith suspended for Week 1
NFL suspended Texans RE Antonio Smith for Week 1.
Smith has also been banned for the remainder of the preseason for his attack on Dolphins LG Richie Incognito in Saturday's preseason game. The Texans open the season on Monday Night Football against the Chargers. The Bolts' swinging gate offensive line means Smith's absence shouldn't be too large a factor for Houston. Tim Jamison will likely start in Smith's absence.

Tue Aug 20 201310:21NFL weighing reg-season ban for Antonio Smith
Updating a previous item, ESPN's Ed Werder reports the NFL is considering a "substantial" fine and "regular season suspension" for Antonio Smith following Saturday's helmet-strike incident with Richie Incognito.
A previous report claimed the league was only considering "up to" a two-week preseason suspension, which would be a true belly laugher. Preseason games are meaningless, and a 32-year-old defensive lineman missing some of them might actually serve to help the Texans and Smith. Smith's act versus Incognito was malicious, violent, and a non-football act with the sole intent of inflicting potentially severe bodily harm. Had Smith connected and drawn blood or fractured Incognito's skull, the NFL would have an enormous problem on its hands. A preseason suspension would be an embarrassment to "The Shield."

Tue Aug 20 201307:22Antonio Smith to be suspended for preseason
Texans RE Antonio Smith will be suspended for up two preseason games for Saturday's incident with Dolphins LG Richie Incognito.
While trying a bull-rush, Smith appeared to rip off Incognito's helmet and quickly swung at the veteran's head with it. Somehow, no penalty was called. It's the second time that these two have tangled in an ugly fashion. Last year, Smith was fined for kicking Incognito. He said the notoriously dirty Incognito intentionally twisted his ankle.

Mon Aug 19 201318:23Texans DE Antonio Smith may face suspension
FOX Sports' Jay Glazer released a video Monday of Texans RE Antonio Smith ripping off Dolphins LG Richie Incognito's helmet in last week's preseason game and striking Incognito in the face with it.
Glazer, arguably the most plugged-in of all NFL reporters, suspects Smith will face a "severe" penalty and quite possibly a multi-game suspension. "I think it'll be more than a fine," stated Glazer. "I think we're looking at a suspension." Ex-NFL official and current FOX officiating analyst Mike Pereira agreed. It's a non-football act, and the intent was malicious. Per Glazer, the NFL has been made aware of the video and is currently debating its penalty.
