Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Tommy Romero will make his MLB debut against the Oakland A's on Tuesday. Romero will take the injured Ryan Yarbrough's (groin) spot in the rotation. Romero is worth keeping an eye on as a possible streamer as he racked up 145 strikeouts across 110 1/3 innings of work in the minors in 2021.

Mon Apr 11 202208:38Tommy Romero Being Called Up By Rays
Right-handed pitching prospect Tommy Romero is being called up by the Tampa Bay Rays, according to Jeff Passan. The 24-year-old, who is ranked as the team's No. 18 overall prospect via MLB Pipeline, has yet to pitch in the majors. Passan notes that Romero's stay in the majors may not be long-term. In 2021, Romero made 23 appearances across Double-A and Triple-A and pitched to a 2.61 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP while averaging 11.8 K/9. Romero leads with an impressive fastball that sits between 92 and 94 mph. He supports his fastball with a curveball and a changeup that both have a good amount of vertical drop.
