Wed Aug 23 202308:33Adrian Martinez Getting Wednesday's Start
Oakland Athletics right-handed hurler Adrian Martinez will make Wednesday's start against Cole Ragans and the Kansas City Royals, according to Martin Gallegos of MLB.com. It'll be the first start of the season for the 26-year-old who's started 12 games at Triple-A in 2023. Martinez hasn't seen much success during his MLB career and owns a 5.85 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, and 19.7% strikeout rate across 32 1/3 innings this year. Despite pitching against the lowly Royals, the native of Mexico offers little value in all fantasy formats.

Sat Aug 27 202222:40Adrian Martinez Will Start Sunday Against The Yankees
Oakland Athletics pitcher Adrian Martinez will start Sunday's series finale against the New York Yankees. The 25-year-old will remain in the rotation while Zach Logue will shift to the bullpen. He owns a 6.08 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, and 19:7 K: BB across 23 2/3 innings in 2022. Martinez was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas and hasn't pitched in the majors since August 7th. The A's will get a "continued look" on Martinez, but he's not a recommended streamer against the Yankees on Sunday, making him mainly a stash in deep-league formats for now.

Sun Aug 7 202213:11Adrian Martinez Recalled From Triple-A, Will Start Sunday
Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Adrian Martinez was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas and will start on Sunday vs. the San Francisco Giants. Martinez has already made four starts with the big league club earlier this season, posting a 2-2 record, 6.52 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and 14:6 K/BB ratio over 19 1/3 innings. He shouldn't be streamed for fantasy purposes but he does have some long-term potential. Athletics' infielder Dermis Garcia was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Tue May 10 202213:17Adrian Martinez Making MLB Debut In Game 2 Tuesday
Oakland Athletics right-hander Adrian Martinez will make his major league debut in Game 2 on Tuesday against the Detroit Tigers. Martinez is being called up from Triple-A Las Vegas to serve as the team's 27th man for the doubleheader. The 25-year-old was acquired from the San Diego Padres in the trade that sent lefty Sean Manaea to the Friars. He hasn't been good in his five starts for Vegas this year, allowing 16 earned runs on 22 hits (four home runs) while walking nine and striking out 25 in 19 1/3 innings pitched. In six minor league seasons, Martinez has a 4.47 ERA and 1.39 WHIP while striking out 9.3 hitters per nine innings. He has some swing-and-miss stuff, but his control is far too shaky for fantasy managers to consider using him as a spot-starter in his big-league debut.
