Wed Jan 321:26Reds Sign Justin Bruihl To Minor-League Deal
The Cincinnati Reds signed free-agent left-hander Justin Bruihl to a minor-league deal with an invitation to major-league spring training on Wednesday. Bruihl will provide the Reds with some bullpen depth in 2024 and will be competing for a roster spot in spring training. The 26-year-old southpaw has three years of big-league experience, posting a 4.22 ERA (4.49 FIP) and 1.24 WHIP with one save, 24 walks and 46 strikeouts in 70 1/3 career innings over 72 appearances (two starts) for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Colorado Rockies. Bruihl had a 5.46 ERA (4.11 FIP) and 1.39 WHIP with 22 K's in 28 relief innings for the Dodgers and Rockies this past season. He will be nowhere near the fantasy radar this year.

Tue Aug 1 202313:29Rockies Acquire Justin Bruihl From Dodgers
The Colorado Rockies have acquired left-handed reliever Justin Bruihl from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for cash considerations, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. Bruihl, 26, has looked solid in his third MLB season, amassing a 4.01 FIP and 47.9 GB% through 24.1 innings out of the bullpen. The southpaw primarily pitches to soft contact, as evidenced by his high ground-ball rate and low K/9 (7.03), BB/9 (2.96), and HR/9 (0.74) clips. Bruihl presumably replaces Brad Hand on the Rockies' roster and is very controllable; he won't even be eligible for arbitration until after the 2025 season.
