Sat Apr 2709:36Patrick Bailey Hits Walk-Off Home Run Friday
San Francisco Giants catcher Patrick Bailey blasted his third home run of the year in Friday's 3-0 win over the Pirates. It was Bailey's only hit in the game but it came at the right time. In a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the ninth, Pirates closer David Bednar walked the first batter he saw, then gave up a single, bringing Bailey to the plate. The 24-year-old deposited a four-seam fastball over the right field wall for the 3-0 walk-off win. Bailey is having a solid season at the plate thus far, slashing .297/.365/.516 with five doubles, three home runs, 10 RBI, six runs scored, and a stolen base in 75 plate appearances. For fantasy, however, those numbers don't really move the needle and he can be left to the waiver wire for now.

Wed Mar 2012:04Jung Hoo Lee, Patrick Bailey Back In Action
San Francisco Giants outfielder Jung Hoo Lee (hamstring) and catcher Patrick Bailey (hand) are both back in the team's Cactus League lineup on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Angels. Lee is in center field and batting leadoff, while Bailey is behind the dish and hitting seventh for the Gigantes. The 25-year-old Lee was held out of the spring lineup for a few days after tweaking his hamstring last week. It wasn't a serious injury, and he's fully expected to be ready for Opening Day on March 28 versus the San Diego Padres as the team's leadoff man and starting center fielder after inking a six-year, $113 million deal to come over from Korea. Bailey took a foul tip off his right hand over a week ago in the Cactus League and is now fully recovered. He struggled at the plate at the end of his rookie season and should only be an option in two-catcher fantasy leagues in 2024.

Mon Mar 1817:06Patrick Bailey To Return To Game Action Soon
The San Francisco Giants are saying that catcher Patrick Bailey (hand) will be back in a Cactus League game in the next day or two. Bailey hasn't played in a week at spring training since taking a foul tip off his hand, but he appears to be fine now and will return to game action before the end of spring games early next week. The 24-year-old switch-hitting backstop hit .233/.285/.359 with seven home runs, 48 RBI and 29 runs scored in 353 plate appearances over 97 games in his rookie season for the Gigantes in 2023. Bailey caught fire early on after his big-league promotion but struggled in the second half. While he should see most of the playing time behind the plate in San Fran because of his defensive prowess, he's not really relevant in single-catcher fantasy leagues.

Wed Feb 2117:19Patrick Bailey Has Bulked Up
San Francisco Giants catcher Patrick Bailey bulked up in the offseason to prepare for his second major-league season in 2024. Bailey struggled down the stretch in his rookie campaign in 2023 and finished with a .233/.285/.359 slash line, seven home runs, 18 doubles, a triple, 48 RBI and 29 runs scored in 353 plate appearances over 97 games played. The extra weight will hopefully help Bailey over the course of his second full season in the big leagues. The 24-year-old switch-hitting backstop hit .322 with five home runs in his first 33 games last year but really fell off after the All-Star break. His excellent defense is his calling card and will likely land him the starting job to start the 2024 season, but if he continues to slump at the plate, the Giants have other catching options they can turn to.

Tue Sep 5 202323:35Patrick Bailey Might Have A Concussion
San Francisco Giants manager Gabe Kapler said that rookie catcher Patrick Bailey (head) might have a concussion after Jeimer Candelario slid into him in the seventh inning of Tuesday's game against the Chicago Cubs. Bailey was feeling light-headed after the 11-8 loss at Wrigley Field. The 24-year-old didn't start Tuesday's game but entered as a pinch-hitter late in the contest. Bailey will be put through the league's concussion protocol and could land on the seven-day concussion injured list. Blake Sabol, who got the start on Tuesday, would become San Fran's primary backstop if Bailey is forced to miss additional time. In his first 83 major-league games this year, Bailey has hit .249/.305/.391 with seven home runs, 45 RBI and 26 runs scored in 307 plate appearances.
