John Parrish was forced to leave a minor league rehab appearance on Sunday after feeling discomfort in his left shoulder.
"The same symptoms came back," said Parrish, who returned to Kansas City on Tuesday for further evaluation. "We're going to see if we can do something a little different to make it feel better." Parrish said he will rehab the shoulder over the next 7-10 days before attempting to throw again. The southpaw has been sidelined since April 29 due to left rotator cuff inflammation.

John Parrish (shoulder) is set to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday.
Parrish will join rehabbing outfielder Rick Ankiel in Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday and the two will try to return to the Royals by next weekend. The lefty reliever has been out since April 29 with rotator cuff inflammation.

Mon May 24 201014:27Parrish to test sore shoulder this week
John Parrish is scheduled to test his sore left shoulder Tuesday with a bullpen session.
The bullpener will be his first and will mark a significant step in his ongoing recovery from rotator cuff inflammation if it is completed successfully. Parrish opened the season with six straight scoreless appearances and left behind a 3.00 ERA over nine total relief outings.

John Parrish (shoulder) is not ready to return from the disabled list.
He won't return from the DL at the minimum, but the good news is that the inflammation in his rotator cuff has improved. He's currently free and easy in his throwing program, but there's no timetable for his return.

John Parrish hasn't pitched since Saturday because of a sore shoulder.
"It's a concern to the point that it's been sore for a few days," said Royals manager Trey Hillman. "We'll see what the next few days brings." Parrish, 32, has a 3.00 ERA over his first nine appearances last season. He earned a spot on the Opening Day roster as a non-roster invitee during camp.
