Davies was outrighted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday.

It was a brief big league stint for Davies as he had just been called up Sunday. He pitched 2.1 scoreless innings in Sunday's win but will likely head back to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The 31-year-old could be in line for another promotion if the club needs another arm in the bullpen at any point.

Fri Aug 12 201100:25Davies arrested day before Royals release
Kyle Davies was arrested for disorderly intoxication in the Tampa area this week, one day before his release.
The Royals cut ties with Davies on Wednesday, mostly because of his continued failures in the big leagues. But there's little doubt now that the arrest also played a factor. The 27-year-old former prospect is seeking a spot in another organization and seems likely to find an opportunity somewhere. Of course, this won't help.

Kyle Davies was scratched from his scheduled Sunday start due to a sore throwing shoulder.
Danny Duffy drew the nod instead, throwing five-plus innings as the Royals topped the Indians. Davies is hoping to return to the mound later this week, but the Kansas City medical staff may play it safe. "I want to pitch," Davies told reporters on Sunday afternoon. "No question about it. But the last thing I want to do is go out there in the first inning, not be able to command the ball, have my shoulder start bugging me and have to come out of the game."
