Sat Aug 5 202313:49Michael Grove Slated To Start On Saturday Against The Padres
Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Michael Grove will start on Saturday against the San Diego Padres. The 26-year-old will likely just serve as an opener in this one and then give way to the recently-acquired Ryan Yarbrough who will work as the bulk reliever. Grove doesn't carry much fantasy appeal with his limited role and his poor rate stats. He owns a 6.75 ERA, 1.580 WHIP, and 63:18 K/BB ratio over 62 2/3 innings (11 starts, 14 appearances).

Wed Jun 21 202316:50Michael Grove Called Up To Start Wednesday
The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled right-hander Michael Grove from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday and placed right-hander Shelby Miller (neck) on the injured list in a corresponding move due to neck pain. Grove will make the start on Wednesday against the crosstown Los Angeles Angels. Not many fantasy managers will be brave enough to stream the 26-year-old after he's posted an 8.10 ERA (5.75 FIP), 1.60 WHIP, nine walks and 30 strikeouts in 30 innings over seven big-league outings (six starts) in 2023. Grove has been much better in two starts for Oklahoma City, allowing just two runs on eight hits while walking one and fanning 14 in 10 innings.

Tue Jun 20 202321:35Michael Grove A Candidate For Wednesday's Start
Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Michael Grove reportedly has a chance to start Wednesday's contest against the Los Angeles Angels, according to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register. The 26-year-old has made six starts for the big league club but is currently just on the taxi squad, so a corresponding move will need to be made. Over 30 innings, Grove owns an ugly 8.10 ERA, 1.60 WHIP, and 21.9% strikeout rate with no wins. If fantasy managers are looking to add some starting pitching to their roster, they'll want to stay away from the former second-round pick for now.

Fri Jun 9 202312:32Michael Grove Making Next Start Against Phillies
Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Michael Grove will remain in the starting rotation and make his next start on Friday against the Philadelphia Phillies on the road. This will be Grove's second start since returning from an injured-list stint. The 26-year-old has been very hittable so far in his five starts in 2023, and he allowed four runs on four hits (two homers given up) while walking none and striking out seven in five innings in a loss to the New York Yankees in his last start on June 3. Grove has an 8.14 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 21 strikeouts in 21 innings over his five starts, but he'll need to start pitching better if he wants to keep his spot in LA's rotation, even with Noah Syndergaard (finger) going on the IL this week. We wouldn't recommend Grove as a fantasy streamer on Friday.

Sat Jun 3 202313:55Michael Grove Officially Activated, Will Start On Saturday
Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher Michael Grove (groin) has been officially activated from the injured list and will start on Saturday against the New York Yankees. It's been known for a few days that the Dodgers would make this move but it's official now. Grove has been out for the last six weeks with a right groin strain but has performed well in Triple-A on his rehab assignment. He struggled with an 8.44 ERA over his first 16 innings to start the season but he should be better the second time around. He's taking Gavin Stone's spot in the rotation after he was optioned back to Triple-A earlier this week. Left-handed relief pitcher Justin Bruihl has been optioned in a corresponding move.

Wed May 31 202316:15Michael Grove To Start Saturday Against Yankees
Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Michael Grove (groin) will be activated from the 15-day injured list in order to start on Saturday against the New York Yankees, according to manager Dave Roberts. As expected, Grove will at least temporarily be taking the rotation spot of rookie pitching prospect Gavin Stone, who was sent to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday. Grove has looked healthy in his last two minor-league rehab starts, but he's also allowed 15 runs on 21 hits (two homers) while walking seven and striking out 14 in 16 innings over his first four big-league starts in 2023. RotoBaller won't be recommending the 26-year-old right-hander as a streamer against the streaking Yankees, but he's worth considering as a waiver-wire pickup in deeper leagues now that he's healthy.

Sun May 21 202313:27Michael Grove Starting Rehab Assignment On Sunday
Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Michael Grove (groin) is starting a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday. The 26-year-old has been out since mid-April with a groin strain but struggled mightily to start the season. He put together an ugly 8.44 ERA, 1.75 WHIP, and 14:7 K/BB ratio over 16 innings (four starts). He'll log a few starts down on the farm and should likely rejoin the depleted Dodgers' rotation in early June if he doesn't suffer any setbacks.

Fri Apr 21 202308:03Michael Grove Headed To The Injured List
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters that starting pitcher Michael Grove (groin) will need a trip to the injured list after leaving his Thursday start early with a right groin strain, according to Juan Toribio of MLB.com. It doesn't seem like a serious issue, but he'll go through more testing, and it will force the right-hander to miss a couple of starts. Grove, 26, has made four starts this season and has no wins with an 8.44 ERA, 18.7% strikeout rate, and 1.75 WHIP over 16 innings. It isn't clear who will be taking his spot in the rotation, but fantasy managers looking for rotation help should stay tuned.

Thu Mar 30 202316:26Ryan Pepiot Put On IL, Michael Grove To Start In Rotation
Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Ryan Pepiot (oblique) is starting the 2023 regular season on the 15-day injured list with a left oblique strain, and Michael Grove will take his place on the Opening Day roster. It's a bummer for fantasy managers that already scooped up Pepiot in deeper leagues to begin the season. Oblique injuries are usually difficult to return from for pitchers, so Pepiot could miss the first couple months of the year. Grove now becomes streamer-worthy in fantasy leagues, and he'll have a very favorable matchup in his first start of the year on Monday at home against the Colorado Rockies.

Fri Mar 10 202315:02Ryan Pepiot, Michael Grove Could Open Season In Rotation
With Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tony Gonsolin (ankle) looking increasingly unlikely to be ready for Opening Day, his rotation spot would probably go to either Ryan Pepiot or Michael Grove. The team will take things slowly with Gonsolin after he sprained his left ankle in camp on Monday. It will be a great opportunity for either of the young pitchers, but it remains to be seen how many turns through the rotation they'll need to fill early on. Pepiot had a 3.47 ERA with 42 K's in 36 1/3 innings for LA last year, but he has had issues with control at times. The 26-year-old Grove had a 4.60 ERA in seven outings (six starts) in his first major-league action in 2022. Either Pepiot or Grove would be worth looking into as early season streamers in LA's rotation.

Sun Oct 2 202214:38Michael Grove Lands On The 15-Day Injured List
Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Michael Grove (knee) has been placed on the 15-day injured list with a left knee contusion. The 25-year-old right-hander put together a 4.60 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and 24:10 K/BB ratio over 29 1/3 innings (seven appearances, six starts). He's got a shot to come back if the Dodgers make a deep run in the postseason but his regular season is finished. Andre Jackson was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move.
