Wed Apr 2412:09Corbin Carroll Hitting Seventh On Wednesday
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is starting in center field but has been moved to the seven-hole on Wednesday for the matchup against the St. Louis Cardinals and right-hander Kyle Gibson. The 23-year-old will be down near the bottom of the D-backs' lineup for the first time this year as manager Torey Lovullo looks to get last year's National League Rookie of the Year going at the plate. After making his first All-Star team and leading Arizona to the World Series last fall, Carroll has come out cold at the plate in 2024, slashing .215/.324/.269 with a homer, five RBI and eight stolen bases in his first 23 games. While the drop in the batting order is likely just a temporary thing to try and help Carroll get going offensively, it's not what fantasy managers want to see. Outfielder Pavin Smith is hitting leadoff after driving in six on Tuesday.

Tue Apr 2318:54Corbin Carroll Sitting Versus Southpaw
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll (rest) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. This appears to be a routine rest day for the young slugger against left-hander Steven Matz. The 23-year-old is off to a slow start to the season, but fantasy managers shouldn't lose hope. Possibly a rest day will help Carroll get back on track. Randal Grichuk, Jake McCarthy, and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. will cover the outfield during Tuesday's game.

Mon Apr 1512:19Corbin Carroll Avoids Injury On Sunday
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll (wrist) collided with teammate Jake McCarthy in the outfield on Sunday against the St. Louis Cardinals, and Carroll was down on the ground for a moment before getting up and jogging off. Manager Torey Lovullo said Carroll fell on his left wrist but that no X-rays were done and the outfielder would be in the lineup on Monday versus the visiting Chicago Cubs. The 23-year-old finished Sunday's game going 1-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base and is now hitting .233 (14-for-60) with a homer, four RBI and five stolen bases in his first 15 games in 2024. The reigning National League Rookie of the Year hasn't hit his stride yet this year at the plate but should remain in all fantasy lineups this week after his injury scare on Sunday.

Tue Apr 216:28Corbin Carroll Grabs Pine Against Yankees
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll will get his first day off of the season on Tuesday against the visiting New York Yankees. With Carroll starting on the bench, outfielder prospect Jorge Barrosa will make his first big-league start, playing center field and batting seventh against Yankees left-hander Nestor Cortes. Jake McCarthy is in right field. The 23-year-old Carroll, who won National League Rookie of the Year honors in 2023, has gone just 3-for-17 (.176) to begin the year with three singles, two stolen bases, four runs scored and six walks in 23 plate appearances. Barrosa was recalled from Triple-A Reno when the team put Alek Thomas (hamstring) on the injured list on Monday, and he doubled in his first ever big-league plate appearance as a pinch-hitter on Monday evening.

Fri Mar 2221:51Corbin Carroll Having Mixed Results In Spring Training
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielderCorbin Carrollis having a subpar spring based on the standard he set for himself en route to being named the 2023 NL Rookie of the Year. Carroll is averaging .292 but lacks power numbers, accumulating just a .702 OPS without any HR and just 3 RBI in 48 PA. Fantasy managers don't appear to be worried, as Carroll currently has an ADP of 6.7 and will be a top 10 overall option in 2024. ATC projects a .278/.359/.490 slash line to go along with 23 HR, 76 RBI, and 46 SB for the 23-year-old lefty. After winning NL Rookie of the Year and finishing 5th in the NL MVP race, Carroll will look to lead a Diamondbacks team, hoping to prove their World Series run wasn't a fluke. He is a surefire top-10 pick heading into upcoming fantasy drafts.

Mon Feb 2616:31Corbin Carroll Makes Spring Training Debut Saturday
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll made his spring debut on Saturday during a 6-2 Cactus League win over the Colorado Rockies. The reigning NL Rookie of the Year was not a factor, however, going hitless in two at-bats and drawing a walk in his third plate appearance. He was then taken out for a pinch runner. One spring training game does not a season make, however, and Carroll figures to be one of the top offensive weapons in all of real-life and fantasy baseball this season. The former first-round draft pick will look to build upon his 2023 All-Star campaign after he tallied a .285-25-76-116-54 line in 155 games. Carroll is ranked fifth overall at RotoBaller and is being taken around the same pick in 2024 fantasy drafts. At that pick, managers have to decide whether they want the HR/RBI upside of Mookie Betts or lower (yet respectable) totals in those categories from Carroll but with 40 more stolen bases than the Los Angeles Dodger second baseman.

Mon Nov 13 202319:13Corbin Carroll Wins NL Rookie Of The Year Award
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll was unanimously named the 2023 National League Rookie of the Year on Monday. Carroll displayed his elite speed and surprising power for a player that stands at just 5-foot-10, 165 pounds on his way to helping the D-backs get all the way to the World Series this fall. The 23-year-old hit 25 home runs and stole 54 bases in 2023, making him the first-ever rookie to reach those marks in his first full MLB season. Carroll also led all NL rookies with a 5.4 bWAR and all MLB rookies with a 6.0 fWAR. He is the first winner of this award in the franchise's history. Carroll slashed .285/.362/.506 with an .868 OPS, 76 RBI and 116 runs scored in 565 at-bats.

Sat Oct 28 202319:12Corbin Carroll Moved To Second For Game 2
Arizona Diamondback outfielder Corbin Carroll will swap places in the lineup with Ketel Marte. The Texas Rangers will start Jordan Montgomery for Game 2, moving the lefty-hitting Carroll down a slot. The Arizona lineup will stay the same as Game 1 outside of that small change. The more surprising move may be that Alek Thomas will keep his place in the lineup against the left-handed Montgomery, again hitting seventh.

Wed Oct 25 202312:20Corbin Carroll Carries Diamondbacks To The World Series
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll, the likely National League Rookie of the Year in 2023, almost single-handedly led the team to the World Series in a 4-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 7 of the NL Championship Series on Tuesday night. Carroll went 3-for-4 with two RBI, two runs scored, two stolen bases and a strikeout in the winner-take-all contest. The 23-year-old sensation came alive when it mattered most, as he had gone just 3-for-24 in the first six games of the NLCS before his breakout performance on Tuesday evening. The dynamic and speedy outfielder has been great overall in his first postseason with the Snakes, hitting .296 (13-for-44) with two home runs, a double, six RBI, seven walks, four stolen bases and nine runs scored in 12 games.

Tue Oct 3 202314:30Corbin Carroll Returning To Leadoff Spot Tuesday
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is back in the leadoff spot for Tuesday's Game 1 of the wild-card round versus the Milwaukee Brewers and right-hander Corbin Burnes. Carroll was one of several D-backs regulars to sit out of Sunday's regular-season finale with a playoff spot locked up but he will predictably get back into the fold while manning right field on Tuesday. The sure-fire NL Rookie of the Year hit .285 with 25 home runs, 54 stolen bases, and an .868 OPS across 155 games played this season while his 116 runs scored ranked seventh in all of baseball. He is 1-for-9 (.111) with a walk and three strikeouts across 10 career plate appearances versus Burnes.

Sun Oct 1 202314:04Corbin Carroll Getting The Day Off On Sunday
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is not in the starting lineup on Sunday for the season finale against the Houston Astros. The D-Backs clinched a playoff spot on Saturday so it makes sense to rest their 23-year-old All-Star. Carroll is all but guaranteed the NL Rookie of the Year after putting up a ridiculous .285/.362/.506 batting line with 25 home runs, 76 RBI, 54 stolen bases, and a league-leading 10 triples over 565 at-bats. Jake McCarthy is starting in right field and batting second in Carroll's place against Cristian Javier and the Astros.

Thu Sep 14 202314:12Corbin Carroll Back In The Leadoff Spot Thursday
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is back in the starting lineup and hitting leadoff Thursday against the New York Mets and right-hander Kodai Senga. The lefty-swinging Carroll didn't start Wednesday's contest against Mets southpaw Joey Lucchesi but will take over in right field for Thursday's series finale. The 23-year-old has enjoyed a well-documented brilliant rookie campaign, hitting .279 with 24 home runs, 47 stolen bases, and an .866 OPS across 141 appearances on the season. Get him back into your starting lineups everywhere despite a tough matchup against Senga on the road.

Wed Sep 13 202316:36Corbin Carroll Sitting Against Left-Hander
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is getting a day off on Wednesday as the club takes on left-hander Joey Lucchesi and the New York Mets. Carroll could use the day off, too, as he's gone hitless in 10 at-bats with two strikeouts in the first two games of the series this week in New York. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. is starting in left field and batting fifth, while Jake McCarthy gets the start in center field and is hitting in the eight-hole. The 23-year-old Carroll is a front-runner to win the National League Rookie of the Year award in 2023, as he's currently slashing a strong .279/.358/.508 with an .866 OPS, 24 home runs, 69 RBI, 47 stolen bases and 103 runs scored in 506 at-bats in his first full season in the majors.

Thu Sep 7 202318:55Corbin Carroll Officially In Thursday’s Lineup
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll (wrist) is officially in Thursday's lineup leading off against the Chicago Cubs and right-hander Javier Assad. It coincides with a previous report that manager Torey Lovullo intended on playing the 23-year-old for Game 1 of this series after he came away with just a right wrist contusion following Wednesday's hit-by-pitch. Carroll gears up for a vital four-game set in the National League Wild Card hunt with a .280 batting average, 24 home runs, 68 RBI, 101 runs scored, and 41 stolen bases through 479 at-bats this year. The five-category stud is slugging .566 in 350 ABs against right-handed pitching, as if fantasy managers needed to be convinced that Carroll belongs in all lineups.

Thu Sep 7 202312:21Diamondbacks Plan To Play Corbin Carroll Thursday
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll (wrist) left in the fifth inning of Wednesday's game against the Colorado Rockies with a right-wrist contusion after he was hit by a fastball from pitcher Gavin Hollowell in the fourth inning. X-rays came back negative, though, and manager Torey Lovullo said he plans to play Carroll on Thursday against the Chicago Cubs. The 23-year-old is a top candidate for the National League Rookie of the Year award and recently become the fourth rookie in MLB history with at least 20 home runs and 40 stolen bases. It's great news for Arizona that his injury didn't turn out to be serious as they look to secure a wild-card berth in the NL down the stretch.

Wed Sep 6 202318:16Corbin Carroll Removed Early On Wednesday
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll (wrist) was removed early during Wednesday's game against the Colorado Rockies. The 23-year-old was pulled from the contest after being hit by a pitch in the wrist on Wednesday. The team is calling the injury a wrist contusion, so it could've been worse. It appears Carroll has avoided serious injury, but it's uncertain if the team will have Carroll undergo further testing. For the moment, fantasy managers should consider Carroll as day-to-day. Fantasy managers will have to check back for another update on his status.

Mon Aug 21 202321:35Corbin Carroll Not In Lineup Monday
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is not in the lineup for his team's Monday game against the Texas Rangers. Carroll will get the day off while his team opens up a tough series against the AL West-leading Rangers. Arizona will go with Tommy Pham in right field, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. in left, and Alek Thomas in center field while their prized rookie takes a breather. Carroll has been impressive in his debut season, hitting .273 with 21 homers, 87 runs, 60 RBI, and 37 steals across 432 at-bats. Look for him to return to the starting lineup on Tuesday.

Mon Aug 21 202318:51Corbin Carroll Sitting Versus Lefty Monday
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is not in the starting lineup Monday night versus the Texas Rangers and left-hander Jordan Montgomery. It was a rare day off for the D-backs on Sunday but Carroll went 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Padres in San Diego. It's been a massive season for the club's former top prospect as Carroll is hitting .273 with 21 homers, 37 stolen bases, and an .856 OPS across 120 appearances on the campaign. However, while he's still hitting .274 versus lefties and .273 against righties, his .693 OPS off lefties is miles below his big-time .914 clip against righties.

Wed Aug 16 202314:01Corbin Carroll Getting A Breather Wednesday
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is taking a day off on Wednesday with the team facing the Colorado Rockies. It's just a day off for Carroll, who has fallen on hard times at the plate. The 22-year-old has really struggled in the second half of the season to this point, going 22-for-105 (.210) with three home runs, three doubles, three triples, 11 RBI, 29 strikeouts, 10 stolen bases and 20 runs scored in 29 games (28 starts) since the All-Star break. He's been even worse in August, going 8-for-47 (.170) with no homers, one RBI, three steals and six runs scored in 13 starts. Alek Thomas is making a start in center field and is batting eighth on Wednesday against Rockies left-hander Austin Gomber. Despite his late-season slump, Carroll has been an excellent fantasy contributor across all categories in 2023 with 21 homers, 59 RBI and 36 stolen bases.

Wed Aug 9 202317:21Corbin Carroll Hitting Leadoff, Geraldo Perdomo Drops To Ninth
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll will bat leadoff on Wednesday against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers and right-hander Bobby Miller. Meanwhile, shortstop Geraldo Perdomo drops to the nine-hole. Carroll has mostly been hitting near the top of Arizona's batting order, so the switch shouldn't affect him all that much. The 22-year-old has been excellent across the board for fantasy managers in 2023, hitting .276/.357/.519 with an .876 OPS, 21 homers, 59 RBI, 36 stolen bases and 79 runs scored in 391 at-bats. Carroll is a must-start fantasy asset. The switch-hitting Perdomo gets the lineup demotion after going 9-for-46 (.196) with no homers, one RBI, 11 strikeouts, two steals and five runs scored in 14 games (11 starts) since July 24.
