Mon Dec 18 202314:43Mets Acquire Yohan Ramirez From White Sox
The New York Mets have acquired relief pitcher Yohan Ramirez from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for cash considerations. Ramirez was designated for assignment by the White Sox last week in order to clear a 40-man roster spot for the recently-signed Eric Fedde. The right-hander split the 2023 season between the White Sox and Pirates while working to a 4.23 ERA across 31 outings and 38 1/3 innings of work. He broke out with a tidy 2.61 ERA across 16 appearances with the Mariners in the COVID-shortened 2020 season and has gone on to post a 3.99 ERA across 102 career appearances. His 5.05 FIP and elevated 12.5% BB% don't bode well moving forward but his 58.4% ground-ball rate from this past season could help mitigate any regression.

Thu Dec 14 202314:05White Sox Designate Yohan Ramirez For Assignment
The Chicago White Sox have designated relief pitcher Yohan Ramirez for assignment. The move came Wednesday as Ramirez was designated after the signing of starter Eric Fedde became official. The right-hander split the Pirates and White Sox and worked to a decent 4.23 ERA across 31 appearances but also struggled to a 9.00 ERA across five outings upon a move to Chicago. The 28-year-old has made 102 career appearances and has worked to a solid 3.99 ERA in that time but he also sports a 5.05 FIP, 4.38 SIERA, and an elevated 12.5% BB% in stints with the Mariners, Guardians, Pirates, and White Sox. He should garner interest on a minor-league deal given his solid surface ERA in his career.
