Thu Apr 1800:49Cristopher Sanchez Cruises Past Rockies
Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Cristopher Sanchez fanned 10 Colorado Rockies en route to his first win of the 2024 campaign on Wednesday, firing six scoreless innings on five hits and one walk in the 7-6 victory. Spotted to an early four-run lead, Sanchez mostly cruised through Colorado's lineup on Wednesday. Brenton Doyle reached on Alec Bohm's fielding error in the opening frame, so Ezequiel Tovar's score went down as an unearned run. The 27-year-old southpaw will take a strong 2.53 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and 25:8 K:BB across 21 1/3 frames (four starts) into his next appearance that's slated for Tuesday at the Great American Ball Park against the Cincinnati Reds, which is a tough matchup for fantasy purposes.

Fri Mar 1519:36Cristopher Sanchez Gets Rocked Friday
Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Cristopher Sanchez was knocked around in a Grapefruit League start against the Houston Astros on Friday. The 27-year-old lasted just 2 1/3 innings while giving up four earned runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out a pair. It was just his second start of the spring after he tossed two scoreless frames with one hit allowed, zero walks and one strikeout on Feb. 27 versus the Twins. Sanchez pitched well in 19 outings (18 starts) in the 2023 season, working to a 3.44 ERA and a healthy 20.2% K-BB% across 99 1/3 innings of work. Additionally, his minuscule 4% walk rate ranked sixth among 141 pitchers who threw at least 90 frames a season ago. Sanchez will open the season as the Phillies' fifth starter and projects for a 4.04 ERA alongside a 14.3% K-BB% across 32 outings (25 starts) by ATC in 2024.

Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Cristopher Sanchez has been named the starter for Game 4 of the National League Championship Series in Arizona on Friday against the Diamondbacks, according to manager Rob Thomson. It will be Sanchez's first career postseason appearance in a big game as the Phillies look to take a commanding three games to one lead in the best-of-seven series. The 26-year-old Dominican southpaw went 3-5 in the regular season in his third year in the big leagues with a career-low 3.44 ERA (3.99 FIP), 1.05 WHIP, 16 walks and a career-high 96 strikeouts in 99 1/3 innings over 19 outings (18 starts). Sanchez didn't face the Diamondbacks at all during the 2023 regular season.

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Cristopher Sanchez looked nearly unhittable on the mound versus the New York Mets on Sunday. Sat Aug 12 202311:04Cristopher Sanchez Earns First Win On Friday
Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Cristopher Sanchez permitted two runs on six hits and three walks with five strikeouts in six innings during Friday's start versus the Minnesota Twins. He secured his first win of the campaign. Sanchez served up a couple of solo home runs to begin the second inning, but pitched very well otherwise. Philadelphia had scored 11 of their 13 runs at the time the southpaw was relieved, so he coasted to a win. Sanchez now shows a 3.39 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, and 53:12 K:BB over 58.1 frames. The 26-year-old is not currently lined up for another start, so there's a chance Sanchez is heading to the bullpen if the Phillies turn back to a five-man rotation.

Sat Jun 24 202312:32Cristopher Sanchez Making The Start Against Mets
Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Cristopher Sanchez (hand) will make the start on Saturday against the visiting New York Mets. Sanchez was hit on his left hand by a comebacker in his last start last weekend against the Oakland Athletics, but X-rays were negative. The 26-year-old southpaw has made only two starts in 2023 for the Phillies, allowing three runs on six hits while walking three and striking out 10 in 8 1/3 innings against the Colorado Rockies and Athletics. The Mets should present more challenges for Sanchez, although they rank only 11th in the National League with a .716 OPS as a team. This will be only Sanchez's seventh major-league start, so he's a pretty risky fantasy streamer in DFS and deeper leagues.

Sun Jun 18 202309:17Cristopher Sanchez Should Make Next Start After Taking Comebacker
Philadelphia Phillies left-handed pitcher Cristopher Sanchez (hand) tossed four scoreless innings with five strikeouts during the team's 4-2 win over the Oakland Athletics on Saturday. The 26-year-old came out of the game early after taking a comebacker to his left hand, but X-rays fortunately turned out following the contest. Sanchez is set to make his next start on Friday against the New York Mets after navigating the A's lineup with relatively ease over 61 pitches in this one. If healthy, the southpaw could be on the deep-league streaming radar versus an overall underperforming lineup.
