Fri Mar 17 202320:49Adrian Morejon Avoids Serious Injury
San Diego Padres pitcher Adrian Morejon (elbow) was pulled out early during Sunday's game due to elbow discomfort. Luckily, the MRI came back clean, so it appears Morejon isn't dealing with anything too serious. The team is going to treat him for inflammation and create a timetable for him to resume throwing again. There's a decent chance that Morejon opens the season on the injured list. However, it doesn't sound like a long term issue, so the team got lucky there.

Sun Mar 12 202321:05Adrian Morejon Removed From Sunday's Contest
San Diego Padres pitcher Adrian Morejon (elbow) was forced to exit early during Sunday's Cactus League matchup against the Oakland Athletics. The left-hander exited the game due to discomfort in his elbow on his pitching arm. That certainly sounds concerning, but nobody should jump to conclusions. The Padres are likely going to have Morejon undergo further testing. Although, it wouldn't be shocking if the 24-year-old began the 2023 season on the injured list. Fantasy managers will have to check back for more information.

Sun Mar 12 202320:40Adrian Morejon Leaves With Arm Discomfort
San Diego Padres southpawAdrian Morejon(arm) exited Sunday's game against the Oakland A's with arm discomfort. Manager Bob Melvin added that the pain ranges from the back of his arm to above his elbow. The Padres hope it is nothing serious and he can return soon. Thu Jun 16 202214:41Padres Reinstate Adrian Morejon
The San Diego Padres reinstated left-hander Adrian Morejon from the COVID-19 injured list on Thursday and optioned left-hander Ryan Weathers to Triple-A El Paso in a corresponding move. Morejon has tossed two scoreless relief innings in his lone major league outing this season, and he'll likely return to a low-leverage long-relief role for the Friars, limiting his fantasy appeal. Weathers was called up to make his first start of the season for San Diego against the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday, and he got the win despite allowing four earned runs on six hits while walking four and striking out three in 3 2/3 frames. He'll go back to the minor leagues for more seasoning.

Tue Jun 7 202218:24Adrian Morejon Recalled From Minors
San Diego Padres pitcher Adrian Morejon (elbow) has been recalled to the big league roster on Tuesday. He is set to make his MLB debut after being sidelined for 14 months due to Tommy John surgery. It sounds like the plan is for Morejon to pitch out of the bullpen, but he could join the starting rotation at some point. Morejon was once a top prospect in the Padres farm system, but has struggled staying healthy. He's not expected to hold much fantasy value while coming out of the bullpen. Right-hander Robert Suarez has been optioned to the minors in the a corresponding move.

Wed Mar 16 202221:19Adrian Morejon Placed On 60-Day Injured List
The San Diego Padres have placed pitcher Adrian Morejon (elbow) on the 60-day injured list. The 23-year-old southpaw underwent Tommy John surgery last spring and is still in the midst of working his way back. The move of Morejon to the injured list helped free up a spot on the 40-man roster for newly signed pitcher Nick Martinez. Morejon showed some impressive strikeout potential at Double-A in 2019 when he fanned 44 batters in 36 innings. However, over 32 innings in the majors, he's struggled to the tune of a 5.91 ERA and a 1.53 WHIP. If all goes well, we should see him back in the majors - likely in a relief role - later this season.

Wed Apr 21 202118:20Padres RHP Lamet exits comeback start with forearm tightness
SAN DIEGO (AP) — Padres right-hander Dinelson Lamet left his season debut Wednesday after two scoreless innings due to right forearm tightness. Lamet appeared to be pitching well against the Milwaukee Brewers, striking out four after a single to start the game. He threw 19 strikes out of 29 pitches, reaching 97 mph on his fastball. The 28-year-old Lamet had not pitched since leaving his final start of 2020 with elbow discomfort and missing the playoffs. He received multiple opinions that surgery wasn’t needed and underwent platelet-rich plasma therapy in the offseason. Lamet had Tommy John surgery in 2018 and didn’t return until the second half of 2019. Lamet was 3-1 in 12 starts last year, when he finished fourth in balloting for the NL Cy Young Award. He averaged 12.1 strikeouts per game and had a 2.09 ERA, third-best in the NL. His quick exit came a day after left-hander Adrian Morejon had Tommy John surgery. ___ More AP MLB: https://apnews.com/hub/MLB and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports
