Fri Mar 1 201322:05Jeff Larish drives home two in loss to Sox
Jeff Larish provided all of the Pirates offense in Friday's loss to the Red Sox, delivering a two-run single in his only at-bat.
The 30-year-old Larish hasn't seen time in the big leagues since the 2010 season with the Tigers, but is hoping to make the Pirates Opening Day roster as a reserve infielder. While the odds are certainly against him, he at least got started out on the right foot.

Fri May 11 201222:42Pirates acquire INF/OF Larish from Red Sox
Pirates acquired INF/OF Jeff Larish from the Red Sox for cash considerations.
Larish recently signed a minor league deal with the Red Sox after being released by the Orioles. The 29-year-old owns a .224/.308/.380 batting line over 276 plate appearances in the big leagues, so he'll likely function as organizational depth. He's expected to report to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Fri Feb 3 201218:20Orioles ink INF/OF Larish to minors deal
Orioles signed INF/OF Jeff Larish to a minor league contract.
The deal does not include a spring training invite. Larish, a fifth-round pick of the Tigers in 2005, batted .240/.330/.449 with 13 homers, 37 RBI and a .779 OPS over 288 plate appearances with the Phillies' Triple-A affiliate last season. The 29-year-old owns an underwhelming .224/.308/.380 batting line over 276 plate appearances in the big leagues, so look for him to serve as organizational depth for Baltimore.

Phillies signed 1B Jeff Larish to a minor league contract.
We're guessing he'll get an invite to spring training, as well. Larish, 28, put up monster numbers in the minor leagues this year, but batted just .179 with two homers and nine RBI in 75 plate appearances between the Tigers and Athletics. He's likely to begin the 2011 season at Triple-A.

Mon Aug 30 201022:32Larish an offensive star for A's Monday
Jeff Larish went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in Monday's loss to the Yankees.
Larish singled in two runs in the first, hit a solo shot in the fourth and doubled in another run in the eighth. He is batting .333 with a pair of homers and six RBI over six games with the A's. Larish has started five of the last seven games and could be a cheap power source in AL-only leagues down the stretch if you're desperate.
Fri Aug 20 201018:17A's call up Jeff Larish from Triple-A
Athletics recalled 1B Jeff Larish from Triple-A Sacramento.
It's interesting that Chris Carter wasn't called up to replace the injured Conor Jackson, but here we are. Larish was 0-for-3 in his first stint with the team earlier this month. The 27-year-old was batting .361 with five homers and 19 RBI with Triple-A Sacramento.
Mon Aug 16 201018:21A's send Larish to Triple-A
Athletics optioned 1B Jeff Larish to Triple-A Sacramento.
Daric Barton's shoulder turned out to be just fine, so Larish only managed three at-bats during his week-stay with the big club. He returns to a bloated .417/.462/.958 batting line to go along with four homers and 15 RBI over 24 at-bats with Triple-A Sacramento.
Mon Aug 9 201019:38Oakland recalls 1B Jeff Larish
Athletics recalled 1B Jeff Larish from Triple-A Sacramento.
Larish is playing first base Monday night with Daric Barton suffering from on-again off-again shoulder spasms, but he doesn't own half the upside of fellow callup Chris Carter. He had inconsistent power in the minor leagues, and struggles against lefties, but at least he can take a walk. Most likely, he goes down once another corner outfielder / first baseman gets healthy, since Carter can back up first, too.
Tue Aug 3 201013:36A's claim Jeff Larish off waivers from Tigers
Athletics claimed 1B Jeff Larish off waivers from the Tigers.
Larish, 27, played three games with the Tigers earlier this season and finished 2-for-10 with one RBI. He'll likely head to Triple-A Sacramento.
Thu Jul 29 201016:08Tigers option Jeff Larish to AAA Toledo
Tigers optioned 1B Jeff Larish to Triple-A Toledo.
Larish was 2-for-10 with one RBI in three games with the Tigers. He could be recalled again soon if the promotion of Jeff Frazier doesn't work out.
Sun Jul 25 201010:19Larish summoned from Triple-A
Tigers recalled 1B Jeff Larish from Triple-A Toledo.
Larish spent chunks of 2008 and 2009 with the Tigers but has yet to see any big league action this season. He's in the lineup Sunday, though, and he could see a good amount of playing time with Magglio Ordonez's injury.
