Smith is hitting just .212 with five homers, 16 runs, and 21 RBI across 113 at-bats in 2023.

He's been a nice surprise for the Diamondbacks this year. Over 97 games, he's slashing .271/.331/.422 with nine home runs, 35 RBI and 47 runs. He's worth monitoring in deep leagues and NL-only leagues going forward.

It's unknown how long the 25-year-old will be out, but it's unfortunate news, primarily since he was batting .269, with 93 hits, 47 runs, and 32 RBI before the designation. Christian Walker will likely fill the void moving ahead, although he isn't a viable fantasy option by any means.
