Mon Jul 24 202312:28Braves Acquire Taylor Hearn From Rangers
The Atlanta Braves acquired left-hander Taylor Hearn from the Texas Rangers on Monday. It's unclear what the Rangers will receive in return. The Braves also acquired veteran reliever Pierce Johnson from the Colorado Rockies on Monday, and both Hearn and Johnson have minor-league options remaining. Atlanta has been limited by the lack of optionable relievers in their bullpen this year. Hearn will not be fantasy relevant and allowed eight earned runs on nine hits while walking four and striking out seven in seven relief innings for Texas in 2023. The 28-year-old southpaw will most likely report to Triple-A Gwinnett after the trade. He had a 3.66 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, 24 walks and 54 strikeouts in 39 1/3 innings over 24 outings (two starts) at Triple-A Round Rock.

Wed Mar 29 202318:16Taylor Hearn Expected To Make Opening Day Roster
Texas Rangers relief pitcher Taylor Hearn is expected to make the team's Opening Day roster out of the bullpen after the Rangers sent John King to Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday. The projected bullpen to enter the year consists of Jonathan Hernandez, closer Jose Leclerc, Will Smith, Brock Burke, Cole Ragans, Dane Dunning, Ian Kennedy and Hearn. The 28-year-old left-hander struggled this spring and had a 5.13 ERA (3.98 FIP), 1.50 WHIP, one save and a career-high 97 strikeouts in 100 innings pitched over 31 appearances (13 starts) for Texas in his fourth year in the big leagues in 2022. Hearn is expected to be a middle reliever for the Rangers this year, and he won't have much fantasy appeal whatsoever.

Thu Sep 23 202100:26Taylor Hearn Loses His Command Versus Yankees
Texas Rangers starting pitcher Taylor Hearn came into his outing without walking a single batter in a string of three starts earlier this month. However, Hearn had some trouble finding the strike zone versus the New York Yankees on Wednesday. He went 5 1/3 innings, four hits allowed, three earned runs, four walks, and three strikeouts in the 7-3 loss. Hearn is posting a 5.40 ERA in seven starts and can be avoided down the stretch of the season.

Sat Sep 18 202110:41Taylor Hearn Gets Rocked By White Sox
Texas Rangers starting pitcher Taylor Hearn didn't have his best stuff during Friday's game against the Chicago White Sox. He went 3 1/3 innings, eight hits allowed, seven earned runs, three walks, and four strikeouts in the 8-0 loss. There wasn't much positive to take from Hearn's outing. He'll take a now-bloated 4.52 ERA into a matchup with the Baltimore Orioles. On paper, this should be a favorable matchup for Hearn, but he shouldn't be trusted as a streaming option.

Wed Aug 25 202101:34Taylor Hearn Records Six Strikeouts In Win
Texas Rangers starting pitcher Taylor Hearn has been in and out of the rotation throughout the season. However, it seems that the Rangers are finally getting comfortable with Hearn in the rotation. On Tuesday, he went five innings, five hits allowed, three earned runs, two walks, and six strikeouts in the 7-3 win over the Cleveland Indians. Those six strikeouts were a career high for Hearn as a starting pitcher. He is not exactly an elite fantasy option, but should have some streaming appeal against the Colorado Rockies in his next start.

Wed Aug 18 202111:42Taylor Hearn Posts Respectable Outing On Tuesday
Texas Rangers starting pitcher Taylor Hearn made the most of his opportunity to start versus the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday. He went five innings, five hits allowed, two earned runs, and two strikeouts in the 3-1 loss. The only damage Hearn allowed in the contest were two sacrifice flies. Sadly, the Rangers were unable to give Hearn much run support. He is posting a 3.97 ERA and 1.32 WHIP in 35 appearances (four starts) this season. Hearn might be a low-end streaming option, but it's uncertain if he's sticking in the starting rotation.
