Heyward-Bey had two catches for 24 yards in the Steelers' 24-20 win over the Chargers on Monday.
DHB tied Antonio Brown with a team-high six targets, but didn't have a reception until Pittsburgh's final drive, which culminated with Le'Veon Bell's game winning 1-yard touchdown run as time expired. His fantasy value likely takes a hit when Martavis Bryant returns to action.

Heyward-Bey caught four passes for 31 yards and a touchdown on five targets in Thursday's 23-20 overtime loss to the Ravens.
Heyward-Bey was more productive than Markus Wheaton in the absence of Martavis Bryant, who is set to return from a four-game suspension for Week 5 against the Chargers. Bryant was expected to open the season as the No. 3 wide receiver, but Wheaton has probably handed his more talented teammate the No. 2 job. With Wheaton showing so poorly this season, Heyward-Bey may still be in the mix for the No. 3 role. Of course, the role will likely come with a modest volume of targets even after Ben Roethlisberger (knee) returns, as the Steelers need to feed Le'Veon Bell, Antonio Brown and Bryant.

Heyward-Bey caught all three passes thrown to him for 19 yards in Pittsburgh's 12-6 win over St. Louis Sunday.
Heyward-Bey has done an adequate job filling the hole created by the absence of Martavis Bryant (suspension). Through three games, DHB has caught 11-of-15 targets for 155 yards and a touchdown, and will have one more week before Bryant returns to action.

Heyward-Bey caught 4-of-5 targets for 71 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the 49ers.
The whole Steelers offense was clicking throughout this game, but it was nice to see Heyward-Bey garner the second-most wide receiver targets behind only Antonio Brown en route to an effective game. Martavis Bryant still has two games left on his four-game suspension, and it seems like Heyward-Bey will continue to act as the team's No. 2 receiver at least until Bryant gets back.

Heyward-Bey caught four passes for 58 yards in the Steelers' 28-21 loss to New England.
With Martavis Bryant (suspension) and Sammie Coates unavailable, Heyward-Bey was targeted seven times; two more than all of last season. Unfortunately, he was unable to turn the increased attention in to a big game, and missed a wide open scoring opportunity when he failed to keep his feet in bounds on what would have resulted in a 26-yard touchdown reception.
Fri Sep 4 201500:13Heyward-Bey
Heyward-Bey, who didn't play in Thursday's preseason game against the Panthers, is expected to fill in as the No. 3 wide receiver while Martavis Bryant serves a four-game suspension to start the season, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
There was some thought that rookie Sammie Coates could help fill in for Martavis Bryant (suspension), but it seems Heyward-Bey will soak up most of the snaps. Although the Steelers make heavy use of three-wide formations, Heyward-Bey still isn't a good bet to see more than three or four targets per game in Bryant's absence.
Sat Aug 29 201515:10Heyward-Bey inactive for Saturday's game
Heyward-Bey is inactive for Saturday's game, Dale Lolley of the Observer-Reporter reports.
Saturday's preseason game would have been a good opportunity for Heyward-Bey to make his case as a possible stopgap while Martavis Bryant is suspended, but he will not be suiting up against the Bills. Sammie Coates could be in line for plenty of targets Saturday in Heyward-Bey's absence.

With Martavis Bryant suspended for the first four games of the season, Heyward-Bey and/or Sammie Coates will see the field in three-wide sets, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Although Heyward-Bey appeared to be ahead of Sammie Coates for the No. 4 spot on the depth chart, it still won't be surprising if the rookie takes on most of Martavis Bryant's snaps for the first four weeks of the season. It's a battle worth watching for deep-league value, as the Steelers makes heavy use of three-wide formations. Both Heyward-Bey and Coates should see extended work in Saturday's preseason game against the Bills.

Heyward-Bey will not play in Sunday's preseason opener against the Vikings, Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
The Steelers are holding out their top four wideouts, leaving Sammie Coates, C.J. Goodwin and Brelan Chancellor to handle significant roles. Unless there's an injury in front of him, Heyward-Bey is unlikely to open the regular season any higher than fourth on the depth chart.
Thu Mar 26 201512:49The Steelers have signed Heyward-Bey to one-year contract
The Steelers have signed Heyward-Bey to a one-year contract, the Carroll County Times reports.
Heyward-Bey, who caught just three passes for 33 yards for the Steelers last season in 16 games, returns to reprise his depth wideout role for the team. Despite the name recognition, the 2009 first-rounder figures to remain a break or two from fantasy relevance, though he has emerged as a key special-teamer for the Steelers.

Heyward-Bey played just one offensive snap in Pittsburgh's 27-17 win over Cincinnati on Sunday night.
Buried behind Antonio Brown, Markus Wheaton and Martavis Bryant, DHB recorded just three receptions on five targets for 33 yards this season, playing mostly on special teams. He is a free agent and is not likely to be resigned by the Steelers.

Heyward-Bey caught the only ball thrown his way for 17 yards in the Steelers' 30-23 win against Houston on Monday night.
He also misplayed an onside kick in the final minutes that almost gave the Texans an opportunity for a game winning drive. His fantasy value is virtually non-existent at this point.
Sat Aug 30 201418:01Heyward-Bey survived final cuts
Heyward-Bey survived final cuts, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
Though he survived final cuts, Heyward-Bey faces an uphill battle to obtain fantasy relevance. He'll likely be competing with Justin Brown and Martavis Bryant (shoulder) for the few targets that are left over after Antonio Brown, Markus Wheaton and Lance Moore (undisclosed) eat their fill.

Heyward-Bey caught three passes for 54 yards (including a 33-yard TD) in Thursday's preseason game against the Eagles.
The effort should further Heyward-Bey's cause to secure a roster spot, but as long as fellow wideouts Antonio Brown and Markus Wheaton are healthy, he's off the fantasy radar in most cases.
Sat Aug 16 201423:19Heyward-Bey
Heyward-Bey, who failed to have a reception and was targeted just once in the Steelers' 19-16 preseason win over Buffalo, is on the bubble of making the 53-man roster, as the team is projected to have just five receiver spots, ESPN.cm reports.
Antonio Brown and Markus Wheaton, who caught a touchdown in the game, are locks to make the team, with Lance Moore and Justin Brown as back-ups. That leaves Derek Moye, Martavis Bryant, Heyward-Bey and several others in competition for the one available roster spot.

Heyward-Bey (concussion) is among the Steelers who are iffy for Saturday's preseason game against the Giants, ESPN.cm reports.
Heyward-Bey has at least returned to practice, but he has some ground to make up, in any case, as he is currently listed as a third-stringer on the Steelers' initial depth chart.
Sat Aug 2 201417:46Heyward-Bey suffered concussion Saturday in training camp
Heyward-Bey suffered a concussion Saturday in training camp, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
The severity of the concussion was not reported. How long Heyward-Bey will be out is also uncertain.

Tue Apr 1 201417:02Darrius Heyward-Bey visiting the Steelers
Free agent Darrius Heyward-Bey will visit the Steelers on Wednesday.
It's Heyward-Bey's first-known visit after his career bottomed out with the Colts last season. Given an opportunity to start, DHB proved as stone handed as ever, catching only 29 passes while committing nine drops. He was one of the league's worst receivers before being relegated to special teams in December. DHB is an adequate blocker and special teamer, but the Steelers will be in major trouble if they're hoping he can contribute on offense.

Thu Feb 13 201409:47Colts not expected to re-sign Heyward-Bey
The Indianapolis Star reports the "odds are stacked heavily against" free agent Darrius Heyward-Bey re-signing with the Colts.
We'd also consider it an extreme long shot. DHB opened the season as the No. 2 receiver opposite Reggie Wayne and held onto the job far longer than he deserved to before being benched for good in Week 14. Heyward-Bey caught just 29 passes for 309 yards and one touchdown on the year, while dropping nine passes. He's our No. 28 free-agent receiver in a top-heavy market.
