Wed Mar 2018:39Nathaniel Lowe Out Until Mid-April
Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe (oblique) won't be ready in time for Opening Day. The expectation was that Lowe would miss some time after suffering an oblique strain earlier in the month. Now, the Rangers are expecting Lowe to be sidelined until at least mid-April. The organization should give a better timetable later, but for now, fantasy managers should expect to be without Lowe for a few weeks. It's unclear how the Rangers plan to fill the void at first base. There's a good chance that Wyatt Langford makes the roster, while Justin Foscue could see some action at first base.

Sun Mar 1710:01Nathaniel Lowe Not Likely To Be Ready For Opening Day
Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe was scratched from his start on March 7 and a subsequent MRI indicated that he suffered an oblique strain. There is no specific date set for his return but the 28-year-old is expected to miss at least four weeks, putting his status for Opening Day in serious jeopardy. The former Silver Slugger Award winner drove in 82 runs last season and crossed the plate himself 89 times, so he's an important piece of the offense. The lefty has an NFBC ADP of 210, but RotoBaller ranks him much higher at 184 overall. Any missed time will dampen his fantasy outlook, but could brighten Wyatt Langford's chances of cracking the Opening Day roster.

Thu Mar 719:26Nathaniel Lowe Experiencing Side Tightness
Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe (side) experienced tightness prior to Thursday's Spring Training game, according to manager Bruce Bochy. Lowe was replaced in the Rangers' lineup by Jared Walsh, but his absence was merely a precaution, the veteran skipper noted. Even if Lowe remains sidelined for a couple more games, he should return for the back half of Spring Training and the Rangers' regular season opener on March 28. Today's update has no impact on the 2024 fantasy baseball outlook for Lowe, who impressed last year with a .262/.360/.414 slash line, 17 homers, 12.8 BB%, 22.8 K%, and 114 wRC+.

Wed Mar 600:45Nathaniel Lowe Struggling In Spring Action
Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe is just 3-for-18 in Cactus League play this spring. The 28-year-old had another solid season in 2023, slashing .262/.360/.414 with 17 home runs, 89 runs scored, and 82 RBI. Fantasy managers shouldn't worry too much about small spring samples and Lowe will benefit from the full strength of the team's starting lineup during the regular season. However, his inability to hit the ball in the air may limit his power output, even if he does hit the ball slightly harder than average.

Tue Aug 29 202300:10Nathaniel Lowe Plates Two Monday
Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe had another nice game at the plate in Monday's 4-3 win over the Mets. Lowe went 2-for-4 with two singles, two RBI, a walk, and a strikeout. The 28-year-old has quietly put together a productive offensive season, slashing .282/.372/.448 with 15 home runs and 70 RBI. He should continue to consistently help fantasy managers down the stretch hitting in the middle of one of baseball's better offenses.

Sat Jul 15 202300:51Nathaniel Lowe Grabs Fours Hits In Rangers Victory
Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe went 4-for-4 at the plate. His Friday night included a home run, a double, and crossing the plate for four runs in the contest. The game marked his fourth career four-hit game and the first time he's scored four runs. Surprisingly, this was his sole RBI in the past eight games as the Ranger's No. 3 hitter behind Marcus Semien and Corey Seager. So far, he's posted a .278 batting with 10 home runs and 46 RBI.

Sun Jul 9 202315:00Nathaniel Lowe Goes Hitless In Loss To The Nats
Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe went 0-for-3 with a walk in a 7-2 loss to the Washington Nationals on Sunday. The Rangers' offense couldn't do much against Patrick Corbin in this one. Yes, you read that correctly. They managed just one run in the sixth and one in the eighth as they dropped the three-game series to the Nationals. Lowe reached once via a walk and finished the first half of the season on a bit of a cold streak. He's slashing just .200/.250/.300 with no home runs or RBI over the last seven games (30 at-bats). He still put together a great first half, along with most of the Texas Rangers. He'll carry a .270/.360/.421 batting line to go along with nine home runs and 45 RBI over 356 at-bats into the second half. While he's looking pretty light in the home runs department, he should still continue to see plenty of RBI opportunities while hitting in the middle of the potent Rangers lineup.

Thu May 25 202315:17Nathaniel Lowe Doubles in Win, Extends Hitting Streak
Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe went 2-for-4 with a double in Wednesday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Lowe has extended his hitting streak to six games, with four multi-hit games in that span. Lowe is currently batting .290 with five home runs and 16 doubles. Lowe only has one home run in May, but he's gone hitless only twice in the entire month. Lowe should continue his success as the Rangers begin their weekend series against the Baltimore Orioles. In 18 career games at Camden Yards, Lowe has hit .343 with six home runs and 17 RBI. Lowe believes the Rangers are legitimate contenders, and his play is a big reason why.

Sun Apr 23 202300:15Nathaniel Lowe Collects Three Runs Versus Oakland
Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe had a solid outing in the win over the Oakland A's. The 27-year-old went 2-for-4 while adding three runs and an RBI. The Rangers put up 18 runs in this one, so fantasy managers received plenty of production on Saturday. Unfortunately, Lowe struck out twice. However, he's amassed six runs in his last three appearances, which helps soften the blow. That said, the veteran will look to close out the series strong on Sunday versus Kyle Muller, with the lefty surrendering 13 hits and six runs over four innings in his previous start.

Wed Apr 19 202309:55Nathaniel Lowe Off To Solid Start In 2023
Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe is slashing .254/.289/.437 with two home runs, 14 RBI, and nine runs scored across 76 plate appearances in 2023. He has collected a hit in 13 of his last 14 games and driven in 11 runs during that span. The 27-year-old will look to keep things going against Kansas City Royals right-hander Brady Singer in Wednesday's matchup. Singer was shelled in his previous start, allowing eight runs on 10 hits and zero walks over five innings against the Braves. Lowe is a must-start in season-long leagues and makes an intriguing DFS option at his current $4,800 DraftKings price tag. Lowe is hitting .400 with a home run and three RBI in his career against Singer.

Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe continued his productive season at the plate in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Rockies, going 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and three RBI. The 27-year-old has built upon his 2021 season and is now slashing .292/.342/.473 with 19 HR and 57 RBI. Lowe is currently rostered in just 66 percent of leagues and is worth a look in at least all points leagues at this time.

Sun Aug 14 202221:07Nate Lowe Doubles Twice, Steals A Base
Texas Rangers first baseman Nate Lowe had a solid day Sunday, going 2-for-3 at the plate with two doubles, a walk, an RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base. It was Lowe's second swiped bag of the season. Lowe now has a five-game hitting streak, and a robust .383/.463/.532 slash line in 53 August plate appearances. He's often been eyed as a potential major fantasy contributor, and perhaps he'll be able to lift his solid .801 OPS even higher by the end of the year. He's hit 16 home runs, scored 51 runs, and driven in 49 more in 411 at-bats this year.

Wed Jul 6 202200:18Nate Lowe Homers, Reaches Base Four Times
Texas Rangers first baseman Nate Lowe reached base four times Tuesday, going 2-for-3 with a home run, two walks, three RBI, and two runs scored in a 10-9 loss to the Baltimore Orioles. The home run was his 12th of the season to go with 34 runs, 37 RBI, and a stolen base. Lowe has slashed 307/.358/.561 with eight homers over his last 30 games. A pedestrian start to the season may be masking superior power numbers out of Lowe, who was a common pick at draft time to be a breakout hitter this year. Fantasy managers should look to make a move for Lowe now, if the window remains open.

Wed Jun 15 202213:45Nate Lowe Homers, Adds Three Hits
Texas Rangers first baseman Nate Lowe enjoyed a strong night at the plate Tuesday, going 3-for-4 with a two-run home run against Jose Urquidy and the Houston Astros. Lowe has surged of late, with five multi-hit games in his last seven. He's also homered five times in the month of June, bringing his season slash line to .281/.326/.443 with eight homers, 24 runs scored, and 24 RBI. It hasn't been the breakout campaign some envisioned thus far, but Lowe's June performance could promise better production to come for fantasy managers who have been patient or continued to track his progress.

Tue May 31 202216:53Nathaniel Lowe Sitting With Lefty On Mound Tuesday
Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against left-hander Ryan Yarbrough and the Tampa Bay Rays. Sam Huff will be covering first base for the game. Lowe was in a massive slump over the first few weeks of May, but he's turned things around lately. In the team's four-game series against the Oakland Athletics, which wrapped up on Sunday, he compiled seven hits, including a home run, a double and a triple. The 26-year-old is slashing .259/.316/.361 over 43 games on the year with three home runs, 16 RBI and 16 runs.

Sat May 28 202210:13Nathaniel Lowe Collects Three Hits Friday
Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe continued his hot streak on Friday, going 3-for-4 with a double, a run, and an RBI to help his team beat the Oakland Athletics 8-5. On the season, the 26-year-old is slashing .260/.316/.356 with three home runs, 15 RBI, 13 runs, and one stolen base. However, since May 17, Lowe's hitting .385 with a 1.102 OPS. His plate discipline has been superb, too, with a 10.3% walk rate and 17.2% strikeout rate, during this time. Fantasy managers that held onto Lowe through his poor start to the season may get rewarded the rest of the way.

Tue May 17 202218:29Nathaniel Lowe Sitting On Tuesday Amidst Slump
Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe is heading to the bench for Tuesday's game against left-hander Reid Detmers and the Los Angeles Angels. Andy Ibanez will be covering first base and batting seventh in the game. Lowe has been in a massive slump at the plate for over three weeks now. He's managed just four hits over his last 57 at-bats and none of the four hits were for extra-bases. The 26-year-old is slugging just .292 on the season with only one home run and four doubles over 32 games.

Mon May 9 202209:53Nathaniel Lowe Heading To The Bench On Monday
Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe is not in the starting lineup for Monday's game against left-hander Nestor Cortes and the New York Yankees. Andy Ibanez will be covering first and batting sixth in the game. Lowe has been struggling at the plate so far in May. Over five games this month, he's gone 2-for-20 with one walk, nine strikeouts and no extra-base hits. Thanks to his strong start to the season, he still has a solid .270 batting average on the year, but he's only managed to hit one home run over 26 games.

Fri Apr 22 202208:10Nathaniel Lowe Goes 3-For-5 In Thursday's Win
Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe helped lead the team to an 8-6 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Thursday. He went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in the game. The 26-year-old is off to a hot start to the 2022 season. Over 12 games, he's slashing .396/.431/.458 with seven RBI. He has yet to hit his first home run this year, but he's making much more consistent contact than previous years. Last year, he had a 25.2% strikeout rate and a .236 xBA. This year so far, his strikeout rate is just 13.7% and he has an xBA of .343, which ranks in the 96th percentile. Lowe also got off to a strong start last year, but really cooled off as the year went on. We'll see if he can sustain this year's hot start throughout the 2022 campaign.

Sat Oct 2 202100:36Nathaniel Lowe Gets Three Hits On Friday
Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe has been a reliable bat in the middle of the order all season long. That continued on Friday with a 3-for-3 performance against the Cleveland Indians. Lowe hit his 18th home run of the league, but sadly it wasn't enough as the Rangers dropped this game 9-6. Lowe is slashing a respectable .264/.358/.417 this season with Texas. He should have a spot at first base next season, but that depends on what the team does in free agency.
