Fri Feb 3 202313:23Eguy Rosario Out Until Summer With Broken Ankle
San Diego Padres infield prospect Eguy Rosario (ankle) broke his ankle earlier this offseason while doing sprint work in winter ball and will be sidelined until the middle of the summer. The 23-year-old required surgery on his ankle. It's a tough break for Rosario, as he was slated for an extensive opportunity to play in front of the big-league coaching staff during spring training. MLB Pipeline has him ranked as the Padres' No. 5 prospect after he hit .242/.306/.272 in 11 games in the Dominican Republic winter league. Rosario also had a .288/.368/.508 slash line with 22 home runs, 81 RBI and 21 steals in 124 games for Triple-A El Paso in 2022. He saw time at shortstop, third and second base in the minors last year and has the best infield arm in San Diego's farm system.

Sat Aug 27 202208:16Eguy Rosario Promoted To Padres On Friday
San Diego Padres shortstop prospect Eguy Rosario was promoted to the big-league team on Friday and went 0-for-1 in a pinch-hit appearance. The 23-year-old has been having an impressive season for Triple-A El Paso with a .293 batting average to go along with 21 homers, 78 RBI and 20 stolen bases. It's unclear at the moment how much playing time Rosario will be getting, but managers should monitor his status in deeper leagues as a late season waiver wire find that could make a difference with his ability to both hit for power and run on the bases. Dynasty managers should snag Rosario where he is available and that is where his best value will likely stand.

Sun Jul 31 202211:16Eguy Rosario Continues Impressive Season In Triple-A
San Diego Padres shortstop prospect Eguy Rosario went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run in Saturday's contest for Triple-A El Paso. It was his second homer in as many games. Rosario has been putting together a strong season and the Padres fifth ranked prospect is now hitting .280 with 16 homers, 62 RBI and 16 stolen bases. Rosario, 22, is having a breakout season for El Paso, but there hasn't been room for him at the big-league level. The Padres always seem to be involved in trade rumors and Rosario is sure to catch the eye of fellow executives across the league. If Rosario were to stay in the Padres system, he is unlikely to make an impact in redraft leagues in 2022. If he were dealt, he could be an intriguing stash option in redraft leagues, but his best value remains in dynasty leagues. Stay tuned to see what happens with the deadline approaching on August 2.

Thu Jun 9 202209:28Eguy Rosario Has Career Night For Triple-A El Paso
San Diego Padres second base prospect Eguy Rosario had a career night for Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday. The 22-year-old went 4-for-5 with three runs, two home runs and six RBI in a victory against Triple-Albuquerque. Rosario is now hitting .241 with five home runs, 20 RBI and 10 stolen bases. Undersized at 5'9, Rosario makes his mark as a better contact hitter than power hitter, but has shown the ability to drive the ball all across the field and has also shown improved plate discipline as he has risen through the Padres system. Rosario is currently blocked at the big-league level and unlikely to make an impact in 2022. Without offering much power, he's just a name for dynasty managers to keep an eye on at the moment, but doesn't warrant being rostered.
