Royals acquired C Julio Rodriguez and LHP Antonio Cruz from the Tigers for 3B Wilson Betemit.

Rodriguez has hit just .283/.325/.354 this season for High-A Lakeland and has shown next to no power potential, but he's only 21 years old and could always hit his stride with a change of scenery. Cruz is a 19-year-old starting pitcher from the Dominican Republic with a strong minor league track record. All in all, a decent package for the 29-year-old Betemit.
