Mon Mar 2501:14Erick Fedde Good To Go After Taking Comebacker Off Quad
Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Erick Fedde took a line drive off his leg in his Spring Training start on Sunday, but shook it off and was able to continue. Fedde said after the game that it is a minor contusion and he will be good to go for his first start of the regular season next Sunday. The 31-year-old had a decent spring, pitching to a 3.86 ERA and 1.29 WHIP with eight strikeouts in 14 IP. He should be a good stop-gap for a White Sox team lacking in the pitching department. He might be a decent streamer on two-start weeks, but don't count on him for much.

Tue Dec 5 202319:15White Sox, Erick Fedde Agree On Two-Year Deal
Free-agent right-hander Erick Fedde and the Chicago White Sox agreed to a two-year, $15 million deal on Tuesday, according to sources. The 30-year-old went 20-6 with a 2.00 ERA for the NC Dinos in the Korea Baseball Organization, where he was named the MVP in 2023. He will now make his way back overseas to the big leagues. Fedde made his MLB debut in 2017 with the Washington Nationals and spent six years in D.C., going 21-33 with a 5.41 ERA (5.17 FIP) and 1.52 WHIP in 454 1/3 innings over 102 outings (88 starts). The rebuilding White Sox had a need for starting pitchers on the cheap this offseason, so Fedde will get a chance to re-establish his value in the majors. He'll be in a good spot to make some noise as a sleeper candidate in the weak American League Central division.

Tue Dec 5 202300:10White Sox, Mets Top Contenders For Erick Fedde
The Chicago White Sox and the New York Mets appear to be the top two teams interested in free-agent starting pitcher Erick Fedde, MLB's Mark Feinsand reported Monday. The 30-year-old is coming off a fabulous 2023 season with KBO's NC Dinos, going 20-6 with a 2.00 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, and 29.5% strikeout rate. A deal, which is expected to be in the two-year, $10 million range, could be finalized by Tuesday. Fedde was once an MLB prospect with the Washington Nationals but compiled a lackluster 5.41 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, and 17.5% strikeout rate over 102 appearances (88 starts). While he did just take home the Most Valuable Player Award for KBO, fantasy managers may want to be cautious with trusting Fedde should he return to the big leagues.

Wed Nov 29 202314:12Erick Fedde Receiving KBO, MLB Interest
Free agent pitcher Erick Fedde is weighing offers from clubs from both the KBO and MLB. It was reported earlier in the month MLB clubs were showing interest in Fedde who recently was named the KBO's MVP after a dominant season with the NC Dinos while the club is reportedly ready to put its best foot forward to bring the right-hander back for at least one more season. Fedde worked to a tidy 2.30 ERA across 30 starts with the Dinos in 2023, striking out 209 across 180 1/3 innings while going 20-6 on the campaign. A former first-round pick of the Nationals, Fedde owns a career 5.41 ERA in parts of six seasons in the big leagues but saw massive improvements in both his strikeout and walk rates in his lone season overseas to this point.

Tue Nov 7 202323:30Erick Fedde Drawing MLB Interest
Former Washington Nationals right-hander Erick Fedde is drawing major-league interest already this offseason after going 20-6 with a 2.00 ERA and 0.95 WHIP in 180 1/3 innings over 30 starts while winning the Choi Dong-won award (the Korean Cy Young) for the NC Dinos this year. Fedde was the 18th overall pick by the Nationals out of UNLV in 2014 and pitched in six major-league seasons in D.C. for the Nats before playing in Korea in 2023. In his six big-league campaigns in Washington, he went 21-33 with a 5.41 ERA (5.17 FIP) and 1.52 WHIP with a 9.5 percent walk rate and weak 17.5 percent strikeout rate in 454 1/3 innings over 102 appearances (88 starts). The 30-year-old will now be looking to resurface in the States in 2024, but fantasy managers should take a wait-and-see approach with him if he's back in the majors next season.

Thu Aug 18 202221:26Erick Fedde Could Rejoin Starting Rotation On Tuesday
Washington Nationals pitcher Erick Fedde (shoulder) could rejoin the starting rotation Tuesday against the Seattle Mariners. He has been sidelined since July 30 due to a shoulder injury. The 29-year-old allowed three hits and one walk while striking out four across four scoreless innings in Wednesday's rehab start with Triple-A Rochester. Barring any setbacks, he is expected to be activated from the injured list ahead of Tuesday's game. Fedde owns a 5-7 record, 4.95 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 70:47 K:BB over 92 2/3 innings in 19 starts. Washington could bump Cory Abbott from the starting rotation or decide to use a six-man rotation once Fedde is activated.

Thu Mar 31 202221:08Erick Fedde Scratched With Side Tightness On Thursday
Washington Nationals right-handed pitcher Erick Fedde (side) was scratched from his Spring Training start against the New York Mets on Thursday. He was reportedly experiencing tightness in his right side, so the team opted to hold him out and send Josh Rogers to the mound in his place. Expect for the Nationals to pay close attention to Fedde over the next few days. The 29-year-old is projected to be one of the team's starting pitchers to begin the 2022 season. He made 29 appearances (27 starts) with the team last year and pitched to a 5.47 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP while averaging 8.6 K/9.

Washington Nationals starting pitcher Erick Fedde was fortunate to take a no-decision in Saturday's 7-6 loss to the Cincinnati Reds after he allowed five runs on seven hits and three walks in 4 2/3 innings. He struck out one batter. Fedde has not recorded a quality start since August 24, and with a 5.26 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and 126 strikeouts in 131 2/2 innings this year, has no reason to be on fantasy rosters.

Tue Sep 21 202111:32Erick Fedde Allows Three Home Runs To Marlins
Washington Nationals starting pitcher Erick Fedde allowed four runs (two earned) in five innings against the Miami Marlins Monday, taking a no-decision in an eventual 8-7 extra-inning loss. He gave up four hits, including three home runs, and no walks while striking out five batters. Fedde has not had a calendar month with an ERA under five since June, and with a 5.10 ERA and 1.39 WHIP for the season, he simply isn't a factor in the fantasy conversation.

Wed Sep 15 202112:38Erick Fedde Strikes Out Eight Marlins Tuesday
Washington Nationals starting pitcher Erick Fedde had a strong showing against the Miami Marlins Tuesday, allowing one run on three hits and no walks in five innings of work with eight strikeouts. He was credited with the win, raising his record to 7-9. Despite this performance, Fedde should still not be an add down the stretch run of the fantasy season, as he has an ERA over five in each of the last three calendar months.

Fri Sep 10 202112:53Erick Fedde Yields Three Homers To Atlanta

Fedde allowed three home runs in six innings, allowing four runs on five hits and no walks while striking out seven batters. Fedde now has a 5.32 ERA and 1.44 WHIP with 112 strikeouts in 117 innings. Sun Aug 29 202122:52Erick Fedde Takes Ninth Loss Sunday
Washington Nationals starting pitcher Erick Fedde was handed his ninth loss of the season Sunday by the New York Mets. Fedde went 5 1/3 innings, allowing six runs (five earned) on eight hits and a walk. The unearned run came on a balk in the bottom of the first inning. Fedde also struck out six batters. Fedde has a 5.17 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in 31 1/3 innings across six August starts. These numbers are quite similar to his year-long figures, so fantasy managers have little reason to expect a turn-around in the final weeks of the season.

Wed Aug 25 202101:09Erick Fedde Strikes Out 10 In Win
Washington Nationals starting pitcher Erick Fedde struck out a season-high 10 batters against the Miami Marlins Tuesday en route to his sixth win in a 5-1 victory. Fedde allowed one run on six hits and one walk in 6 1/3 innings. This is Fedde's first quality since August 1, and by far his best start of the month, if not the season. With a 4.91 ERA and 1.41 WHIP, it's hard to argue that Fedde has a place on fantasy rosters.

Wed Aug 18 202101:02Erick Fedde Takes Fifth Win
Washington Nationals starting pitcher Erick Fedde earned his fifth win of the season Tuesday, holding the Toronto Blue Jays to three runs on five hits and three walks in five innings. He struck out four batters. It wasn't the prettiest of outings, but the Nationals lineup scored enough runs that it didn't matter in a 12-6 victory. Fedde has a 5.49 ERA over four August starts, and on a team that isn't likely to get many more wins, that leaves him with very little to offer fantasy managers.

Sat Aug 7 202104:47Erick Fedde Endures Eighth Loss Friday
Washington Nationals starting pitcher Erick Fedde took his eighth loss of the season Friday, dropping his record to 4-8 on the year. He allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits and one walk to the Atlanta Braves. He struck out three batters. Fedde has had plenty of bright spots this season, but this outing brings his ERA and WHIP for the year to 5.15 and 1.41, highlighting just how much he's struggled outside of those select strong moments. He's simply not a fantasy option going forward, especially on a depleted Washington team where wins will be hard to come by.

Sun Aug 1 202121:42Erick Fedde Earns Quality Start Sunday
Washington Nationals starting pitcher Erick Fedde earned a quality start against the Chicago Cubs Sunday, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk in six innings. He struck out eight batters. All the damage came off the bat of Rafael Ortega, as Fedde yielded both a two-run and a solo shot to the outfielder. Fedde now has a 5.01 ERA and 1.38 WHIP with 76 strikeouts in 82 2/3 innings on the year. He isn't a great fantasy asset, but he's worth using in strong matchups and two-start weeks.

Washington Nationals starting pitcher Erick Fedde was knocked out in the fifth inning of Tuesday's start against the Philadelphia Phillies having allowed four runs on eight hits and one walk. He struck out four batters and allowed two home runs, including an inside-the-park shot off the bat of Bryce Harper. Fedde has now allowed at least four earned runs in four of his last six starts, and his ERA has risen to 5.05 on the season. He should no longer be counted on in any fantasy format.
