Tigers prospect Cody Satterwhite will miss Double-A Erie's opener due to a lingering and mysterious shoulder injury.

Satterwhite, a second-round pick from 2008, paid a visit to Dr. James Andrews last week. Surgery is an option, but was not immediately recommended. "They're looking at it as a strain," said Dan Lunetta, the Tigers' director of minor league operations. "Time will tell. Doctors want to remedy this with an aggressive rehab program before they have to opt for the consideration of surgery." He had a 52/27 K/BB ratio in 49 1/3 innings last year for Erie.
