Mon Mar 24 201419:35Armando Galarraga released by Rangers
Rangers released RHP Armando Galarraga.

Wed Nov 27 201316:05Mets interested in Galarraga, Garate
The Mets have expressed interest in right-hander Armando Galarraga and left-hander Victor Garate, according to Venezuelan journalist Rafael Tejera.
Galarraga, best known for his "imperfect game" with the Tigers, pitched exclusively at the Triple-A level this year. Garate, 29, spent 2013 in the Mexican League and hasn't appeared in the majors since 2009 as a member of the Nationals. They would be nothing more than minor league depth if they joined the Mets. Both pitchers also have offers to pitch overseas.

Mon Jul 22 201314:56Galarraga suffers forearm strain at Triple-A
Armando Galarraga suffered a forearm strain while pitching in a game at Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Galarraga will miss at least one turn in the Colorado Springs rotation. The right-hander was acquired from the Reds earlier this month for Parker Frazier and has posted some decent numbers this year at the Triple-A level. He was nearing a shot with the Rockies.

Mon Jul 15 201312:42Rockies acquire Armando Galarraga from Reds
Rockies acquired RHP Armando Galarraga from the Reds for RHP Parker Frazier.
Galarraga had posted a promising 2.98 ERA and 62/34 K/BB ratio through 84 2/3 innings (16 starts) this season for the Reds' Triple-A affiliate in Louisville, Kentucky. He will have an easier path back to the majors with the Rockies than he would've with the Reds, but that doesn't necessarily mean the 31-year-old right-hander is destined to pitch in the bigs this year. He was assigned to the Rockies' Triple-A affiliate in Colorado Springs.

Fri Mar 22 201313:23Armando Galarraga reassigned
Reds reassigned RHP Armando Galarraga to minor league camp.
Galarraga pitched well in camp, posting a 3.38 ERA and 1.25 WHIP over four appearances, but he never had a real shot to head north with the big club. He'll give them some rotation depth at Triple-A.

Mon Feb 25 201318:12Galarraga goes two scoreless in spring debut
Armando Galarraga allowed just one hit over two scoreless innings Monday in a 5-2 victory over the Brewers.
Galarraga struck out two batters and walked none. He won't have a spot in the Reds' rotation when the regular season gets underway, but the 31-year-old righty could luck into a midseason call-up in the event of an injury.

Sat Feb 9 201316:06Reds invite Galarraga to spring training
Armando Galarraga has been invited to major league camp with the Reds.
Galarraga signed a minor league deal with the Reds last month, but he originally wasn't invited to big league camp. With the depth that the Reds have in their rotation, it's unlikely that Galarraga will find a spot on the Opening Day roster. It's possible that he could find work as a long reliever out of the bullpen, but he won't hold any value in fantasy leagues.

Reds sign RHP Armando Gallaraga to a minor league contract.
The deal presumably includes a spring training invite. The 30-year-old right-hander posted a 6.75 ERA over five starts with the Astros last season. He'll function as insurance for the starting rotation.

Sun Aug 19 201217:49Armando Galarraga goes 3 2/3 in loss
Armando Galarraga got roughed up in Sunday's loss to the Diamondbacks, allowing five runs on six hits and two walks in just 3 2/3 innings.
He struck out one, walked two and surrendered a solo home run to Aaron Hill. Galarraga is now 0-4 as an Astro, and has failed to record more than 16 outs in any of his five starts. Through 24 frames, he's sporting a 6.75 ERA, 1.92 WHIP and abysmal 17/18 K/BB ratio. Perhaps the Astros will give someone younger a shot soon.

Fri Aug 3 201222:52Galarraga walks seven in loss to Braves
Armando Galarraga struggled to find the strike zone in Friday's loss to the Braves, walking seven and allowing four runs on five hits in 5 1/3 innings.
Galarraga struck out four in the rough outing. Chipper Jones got the scoring started with a two-run double in the third, and came around to score on an RBI double from Dan Uggla. Martin Prado added an RBI double of his own in the fourth, finishing the damage. Galarraga has posted a 5.23 ERA and 9/8 K/BB ratio over his first two starts, and will look to get in the win column for the first time when he battles the Nationals at home on Wednesday.

Sat Jul 28 201216:14Astros call up Saturday's stater Galarraga
Astros purchased the contract of RHP Armando Galarraga from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Galarraga will start for the Astros on Saturday night against the Pirates. He registered a pedestrain 4.12 ERA and 31/18 K/BB ratio in 43 2/3 innings this season at the Triple-A level and should be ignored in pretty much all fantasy formats.

Mon May 7 201211:05Galarraga working out at Yankees' complex
According to Venezuelan reporter Augusto Cardenas, Armando Galarraga is working out at the Yankees' spring training complex and may soon sign a deal with the team.
Galarraga has struggled mightily to attract free agent interest since being released from the Orioles in early-April. There's very little risk in a minor league contract, however, and it wouldn't hurt the Yankees to add a little organizational pitching depth. Galarraga has a 4.69 career ERA in the majors and a 1.38 career WHIP.
