Melton (knee) signed a one-year deal with Tampa Bay on Thursday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Melton played for Bucs' coach Lovie Smith back when they were both with the Bears, recording 13 total sacks between 2011-2012. After spending last season with Dallas, he'll add depth to the Tampa Bay defensive front.

The Cowboys have declined to pick up Melton's option, Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News reports.

This isn't a big surprise, given the size of the option (three years, $25 million) and Melton's limited production in 2014. The Cowboys may still be interested in bringing him back, but at a reduced price tag.
