Mon Mar 2509:06Willy Adames Hits Three Dingers
Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames had a huge game in Sunday's Cactus League matchup versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Adames went 3-for-3 with four runs and three home runs. The homers would knock in all of his six RBI on the day. The 28-year-old was the subject of trade rumors this offseason, but stuck with the Brewers and has had a huge spring with a .317 batting average to accompany six homers and 15 RBI. Adames has seen a dip in his batting average over the past two seasons, but the power remains there with 24 or more homers in the past three seasons. An upcoming free-agent, Adames is motivated to get that big pay day and his hot start in the spring makes him an intriguing bounce back candidate.

Wed Mar 609:20Willy Adames Triples In Loss
Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames went 1-for-3 in Tuesday's Cactus League loss versus the San Francisco Giants. His lone hit was a triple and he also knocked in one run. Adames was a name that was and is rumored to be available as he has an expiring contract after this season. The 28 year-old had an odd 2023 campaign with a weak .217 batting average, but serviceable in the power department with 24 homers and 80 RBI. Adames is a career .251 hitter, so his batting average should improve from last season to go along with his power numbers. He makes for an intriguing late-round, bounce back candidate with an ADP of 189 heading into the season.

Mon Nov 20 202322:00Dodgers Could Look To Land Corbin Burnes, Willy Adames
One executive has speculated that the Los Angeles Dodgers could make an attempt to land both Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Corbin Burnes and shortstop Willy Adames in the same deal this offseason. Both Burnes and Adames are eligible for free agency next offseason. The Dodgers are fully expected to pursue starting pitching in the offseason with Walker Buehler (elbow) coming off Tommy John surgery and with Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) on the open market. LA is likely to pursue both Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani (elbow), the two big-ticket free-agent options this winter, but Ohtani won't be able to take the mound at all in 2024. The Brewers are heading into a rebuilding phase and are listening on all of their players.

Adames is hitting .201/.286/.376 with 17 home runs and 48 RBI in 103 games this season. This appears to be a matchup move with Adams struggling at the plate right now.

Mon Aug 7 202318:33Willy Adames On The Bench Monday
Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames is not in the starting lineup Monday night against the Colorado Rockies and right-hander Peter Lambert. The 27-year-old's tough season continued in Sunday's series finale against the Pirates as Adames went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in his club's 4-1 defeat. While he's offered some pop with 17 home runs on the season, Adames is hitting just .201 with a .662 OPS across 443 trips to the plate. He also has just three hits across six games and 26 trips to the plate since the calendar flipped to August. Bryce Turang will take over at shortstop and hit seventh in the series opener with the Rockies Monday night.

Sat Jun 24 202310:10Willy Adames Busts Slump, Explodes For Five RBI
Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames finished 4-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI in Friday's 7-1 win over the Cleveland Guardians. The 27-year-old smacked the ball all over the yard in this one, also contributing a double off the centerfield wall which almost left the park. Since Adames last went deep on June 7, he was mired in a rough 8-for-46 skid with just two RBI over his previous 12 games this month. The slugging infielder halted that slump with a massive showing in this one and fantasy managers hope it gets him cooking. With room for improvement, Adames is slashing .216/.294/.398 with 12 big flies, 34 RBI, and four stolen bases over 241 at-bats.

Fri Jun 2 202316:52Willy Adames Resumes Baseball Activities
Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames (concussion) will not join the team on the road against the Cincinnati Reds this weekend, but he is resuming baseball activities on Friday with High-A Wisconsin. The Brewers will make a decision at the end of the weekend about Adames' next steps. There's a chance that the 27-year-old won't need to go on a minor-league rehab assignment, so fantasy managers could be getting him back at some point early next week. He was put on the seven-day concussion injured list last Saturday after getting hit by a foul ball in the dugout. Adames is hitting a disappointing .205 (38-for-185) through 51 games, but he does have nine home runs, 27 RBI and four stolen bases.

Sat May 27 202309:16Willy Adames To Be Placed On Injured List On Saturday
Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames (head) exited Friday's eventual 15-1 defeat to the San Francisco Giants after he was hit in the face by a foul ball from Milwaukee's dugout. The 27-year-old absorbed the brunt of some friendly fire via a fouled-off liner from teammate Brian Anderson during the second inning. It was a bit of a scary scene, but Adames was able to leave with the assistance of the team's trainers. The slugging infielder has no facial fractures and was "alert and responsive" after visiting a local hospital, per manager Craig Counsell, which is a great sign. Hopefully Adames was able to come away without sustaining a significant injury, but the Brewers skipper did concede that the shortstop will head to the injured list on Saturday.

Sun May 21 202317:00Willy Adames Curbs Slide With Long Ball
Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames went just 1-for-5 in the team's win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, but he walloped a solo homer in the second inning. The big fly comes on the two-year anniversary of the trade which shipped Adames out of Tampa Bay to Milwaukee. The 27-year-old was skidding with just three hits in his prior 25 at-bats, but he suppressed a far deeper 17-for-94 (.181 average) skid over the past month of play before Sunday's outing. The hard-hitting infielder is hitting .212 and slugging .382, both career-worst marks, with eight round trippers and 25 RBI in 2023.

Tue Nov 15 202213:15Brewers Unlikely To Trade Willy Adames
The Milwaukee Brewers are unlikely to trade shortstop Willy Adames this offseason. Luis Urias and Brice Turang can both play shortstop, but Adames is a core player for the Brewers. Newly promoted general manager Matt Arnold is also well aware of the negative impact that the trade of closer Josh Hader had to close out the season. Second baseman Kolten Wong will earn $10 million next year and right fielder Hunter Renfroe is projected to get $11.2 million in arbitration, so they could be moved if they want to reconfigure their payroll. Adames is projected to earn $9.2 million in arbitration and is under club control through 2024. In his first full year in Milwaukee, Adames hit just .238 but also had a career-high 31 home runs, 98 RBI, 83 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 139 games played.

Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames reached base four times Tuesday night, going 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, a run scored, and two RBI in an 8-4 win against the division-rival St. Louis Cardinals. Adames has a five-game hitting streak going and has driven in exactly two runs in each of his last three games. He's slashing .234/.296/.463 this season, which is a bit less impressive than his last few seasons but is still an above-average output. With 28 home runs, five steals, 75 runs scored, and 85 RBI, fantasy managers have to be pleased with his overall performance this year.

Sat Jul 23 202213:33Willy Adames Reaches 20 Homers
Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames hit his 20th homer of the season Friday night, reaching that plateau for the third time in his career. He appears well on his way to besting his career-high of 25 round-trippers, set in 2021. Adames went 1-for-6 in this contest with two runs scored. While he's enjoying a productive season with 50 runs scored, 52 RBI, and three steals, Adames has only managed a .219 batting average and .292 on-base percentage, which would represent career lows for him by a wide margin.

Wed Jun 8 202216:24Willy Adames Reinstated From 10-Day Injured List
The Milwaukee Brewers reinstated shortstop Willy Adames (ankle, quadriceps) from the 10-day injured list on Wednesday. Infielder Pablo Reyes was optioned to Triple-A to clear a roster spot for him. Adames had been out since May 15. A left ankle sprain initially sent him to the injured list, but he experienced quadriceps soreness during his rehab assignment, which delayed his return to the majors. The 26-year-old has been limited to 35 games so far this year. He has a season-long slash line of .208/.304/.462 to go along with nine home runs, 24 RBI and 23 runs.

Tue Jun 7 202217:47Willy Adames To Be Activated Wednesday
Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames (ankle, quadriceps) will be activated from the injured list on Wednesday as long as things go well on Tuesday, according to manager Craig Counsell. Adames came into Tuesday saying he was 100%, but the Brewers wanted him to show it. The 26-year-old went on the injured list on May 15 with a left ankle sprain, and he dealt with some quadriceps soreness while on his minor league rehab assignment. In three rehab games with Single-A Carolina and Triple-A Nashville, Adames went 3-for-8 with two home runs and three RBI. He should return to being the team's everyday shortstop. He has a low .208 average but has also hit nine home runs and driven in 24 in 130 at-bats at the major league level this year.
