The 29-year-old right-hander elected to become a free agent after being outrighted to Triple-A Toledo last week. Bonine will attempt to make the Phillies out of camp as a mediocre long relief innings eater who can spot start. | ||||||

"I threw a pitch and it kind of knotted up on me," Bonine said. "I've never cramped up underneath my rib before, so I don't really know what that was. I just cramped up and I just needed to take a big breath, and I was fine." It doesn't appear as though he will miss any time. | ||||||
