Cutler (hamstring) completed 26-of-45 passes for 252 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions in Sunday's 18-17 victory over the Chiefs. He picked up an additional 15 rushing yards on four carries.
During his tenure in Chicago, Cutler has often been chided for his inability to produce in big moments, but he's done his best to rewrite that narrative by leading the Bears to comeback victories in both of the last two weeks. Though his first quarter fumble directly resulted in a Chiefs touchdown, Cutler did well in protecting the ball the rest of the way, finishing without an interception for the first time this season. More importantly, he showed incredible poise on the Bears' final two drives of the game. He first found Marquess Wilson for a 22-yard touchdown pass with 3:05 remaining in the fourth quarter, and then after a Chiefs three-and-out, Cutler commanded the offense on a eight-play, 67-yard drive that culminated in a go-ahead touchdown reception by Matt Forte with 18 seconds left. Cutler continues to play through a hamstring injury that was initially expected to sideline him for both of these last two games, but he's shown no signs of obvious rust and has improbably put the Bears in strong position to get back to the .500 mark with a road win next week against the 0-5 Lions.

Cutler (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
Though Cutler was limited all week in practice by the injury, his strong performance in his return to action in the Week 4 win over the Raiders never put his status for Sunday's game in much peril. Cutler will probably have to gut it out at less than 100 percent health, and will also have to make due with his top receivers, Alshon Jeffery and Eddie Royal, both unavailable due to injury. Look for Cutler to turn to tight end Martellus Bennett frequently in the passing game.

Cutler (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Kansas City, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Cutler was listed as a limited participant all week, but he looked fine in a Week 4 win over the Raiders, and there haven't been any reports that he aggravated his hamstring. Though the Bears' quarterback doesn't appear to be in much danger of missing the game, top wide receivers Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) and Eddie Royal (ankle) are far less certain, and left tackle Jermon Bushrod (concussion) has already been ruled out. Even against a shaky Kansas City pass defense, Cutler may be in a very tough spot.
Wed Oct 7 201514:47Jay Cutler: Limited Wednesday
Cutler (hamstring) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Adam Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Cutler returned Sunday from a one-week absence due to a hamstring injury and didn't miss a beat, completing 28 of 43 passes for 281 yards to go with two touchdowns and one interception. Considering he was initially given a prognosis of at least two missed games, it isn't a surprise that his practice reps are limited to begin the week. As long as the healing process continues unabated, he'll face a yielding Chiefs secondary Sunday that has allowed 311 yards per game and 11 passing touchdowns to quarterbacks this season.

Cutler connected on 28-of-43 attempts for 281 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's win over Oakland.
Without the benefit of having his top target Alshon Jeffery, Cutler reconnected with his old friend from Denver, Eddie Royal, his freakishly athletic tight end, Martellus Bennett. Granted the performance was against the rebuilding Raiders, but Cutler showed for the first time this season that he can put up solid production in offensive coordinator Adam Gase's scheme, with improvement possible upon Jeffrey's return. Production hasn't necessarily been Cutler's problem over his career, however, it's been the mistakes. Since the beginning of last season, Cutler has turned the ball over in 15 of 18 starts. It is difficult to view him as anything more than a fantasy backup until he shows the ability to protect the ball.
Sun Oct 4 201511:35Jay Cutler: (Hamstring) Will start Sunday vs. Raiders
Cutler (hamstring) is active and will start Sunday's game against the Raiders, Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Cutler has been limited in practices all week, but he made a serious push to get back on the field Sunday and appears to have received the go-ahead from the Bears' training staff to play. While Cutler is still likely feeling some effects of the injury, a less-than-fully-healthy version of himself represents a better alternative at quarterback than Jimmy Clausen, who threw for just 63 yards in last week's 26-0 loss to the Seahawks. The matchup against the Raiders is favorable on the surface for Cutler, but with his left tackle in Jermon Bushrod (concussion) and top receiver in Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) sidelined for this week, he could have a difficult time keeping the offense productive.
Sun Oct 4 201509:06Cutler (hamstring
Cutler (hamstring, questionable) is pushing to play Sunday against the Raiders, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
The report suggests that in the event that Cutler is able to give it a go, his mobility could be hampered, with the "risk of re-injury (an) issue." In any case, the quarterback's Week 4 status, will be confirmed, either way, in advance of the NFL's 1:00 ET slate of games.

The Bears list Cutler (hamstring) as questionable for Sunday's game against the Raiders, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Cutler turned in three days of limited practice this week, but his Week 4 status remains up in the air at this stage. We'll continue to monitor the Bears' QB situation in advance of Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff, but if Cutler is unavailable Sunday, Jimmy Clausen would be in line to draw the start.
Thu Oct 1 201514:48Jay Cutler: (Hamstring) May be able to play Sunday
Speaking about his availability for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Cutler (hamstring) said, "If I can get back, I'll get back."
With limited practices under his belt to kick off the week, Cutler has opened the door for a return Sunday following a hamstring strain suffered in Week 2. His recovery is a "day-to-day" prospect, but Friday's injury report will ultimately give a good indication, one way or the other, whether game action is possible. If not, backup Jimmy Clausen will again direct the Bears' offense.
Wed Sep 30 201514:48Jay Cutler: (Hamstring) Limited Wednesday
Cutler (hamstring) was limited at practice Wednesday.
According to Jeff Dickerson of ESPN.com, Cutler's practice reps were contained to individual drills. While the appearance was a surprise, Cutler is still expected to sit out another week, at least, as he recovers from a strained hamstring. As long as he's sidelined, Jimmy Clausen will assume QB duties for the Bears.

Though Cutler (hamstring) says he knows his body and thinks he'll be back in a couple of weeks, his injury is a strain (which is a tear) and typically takes four-to-six weeks to heal, Fox's Jay Glazer reports.
The conflict between a player's desire to get back out on the field and thus be optimistic about his return date versus the usual medical timetable is fairly common. Some players can defy the odds, but most don't.
Fri Sep 25 201513:03Jay Cutler: (Hamstring) Ruled Out For Week 3
Cutler (hamstring) is out for Sunday's game in Seattle, Adam Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
The Bears will have a depleted offense in a difficult matchup, with Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) also ruled out and Eddie Royal (back/hip) listed as questionable. Jimmy Clausen will start at quarterback until Cutler is ready to return.
Thu Sep 24 201514:38Jay Cutler: (Hamstring) Doesn't Practice Thursday
Cutler (hamstring) didn't practice Thursday.
The door is closing on Cutler's ability to suit up Sunday in Seattle, which could be clarified upon the release of Friday's injury report. If he's ruled out, Jimmy Clausen will take the reins of an offense that could be without Alshon Jeffery (hanstring).
Wed Sep 23 201514:50Jay Cutler: (Hamstring) Hasn't Been Ruled Out
Head coach John Fox hasn't ruled Cutler (calf) out for Sunday's game at Seattle.
Cutler was unable to practice Wednesday due to his strained hamstring, which backs up the belief that he's expected to sit out at least two weeks, but Fox has left the door open for the quarterback to play in Week 3. As the week draws to a close, he'll have additional opportunities to attempt to practice. However, Friday's injury report could seal the deal with regard to an upcoming DNP.
Mon Sep 21 201517:46Jay Cutler: (Hamstring) Out A Few Weeks
Cutler will sit out a couple weeks due to a hamstring injury, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Cutler's outing Sunday was cut short due to a hamstring issue, which has been confirmed as a strain, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. With a few absences likely in Cutler's future, his replacement, Jimmy Clausen, will likely be under center this Sunday at Seattle and in Week 4 against the Raiders, at the very least.
Mon Sep 21 201515:03Per coach John Fox
Per coach John Fox, Cutler's hamstring injury is "not really severe," NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
Moreover, the report describes Cutler's issue as a strain, though at point the quarterback's status for Week 3's contest against the Seahawks has yet to be clarified.

Bears head coach John Fox did not specify after Sunday's game against the Cardinals if Cutler will have to miss any time because of the hamstring injury he suffered in the second quarter, according to Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune.
Cutler hurt himself while trying to make a tackle on a pick six, with Jimmy Clausen coming on in relief. Cutler was playing well before throwing the interception, and Clausen struggled to get much going, passing for just 121 yards while also getting picked off. If Cutler is unable to play in Week 3 against Seattle, Clausen is expected to be under center.
Sun Sep 20 201515:02Jay Cutler: (Hamstring) Ruled Out Sunday
Cutler was ruled out of Sunday's game against the Cardinals due to an injured hamstring, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Suffering the ailment on his pick-six in the latter stages of the first half, Cutler ended the contest 8-of-9 passing for 120 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Furthermore, he took 12 carries for 31 yards in the Bears' surprising decision to utilize a zone-read-happy offense. With Cutler out of commission, Jimmy Clausen is now under center for the Bears.
Sun Sep 20 201514:26Jay Cutler: (Undisclosed) Leaves Sunday's Contest
Cutler walked to the locker room with trainers late in the second quarter of Sunday's contest against the Cardinals, Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune reports.
In the process of throwing a pick-six, Cutler attempted to take down the interceptor, Tony Jefferson, en route to the end zone but landed awkwardly on his side. Cutler immediately headed to the locker room, where the team's medical staff will commence a thorough evaluation. Until a diagnosis is clear, Jimmy Clausen will direct the Bears' offense.

Cutler completed 18 of 36 passes for 225 yards, with one touchdown and one interception, while also rushing four times for 31 yards Sunday against the Packers.
Cutler connected with five different receivers, throwing 11 of his 36 passes to top wideout Alshon Jeffery after he missed all of preseason with a hamstring injury, but a costly interception late in the game all but clinched the win for the Packers. Cutler's touchdown came with under a minute left in the game, a 24-yarder to tight end Martellus Bennett, providing a little more production for fantasy owners than the 201 yards and no scores he had before then. Cutler's fantasy upside isn't likely to be as high as in recent years, though it could creep back up when rookie wideout Kevin White (PUP-leg) debuts in a few weeks.
