Light has walked eight batters and allowed seven runs in his last three appearances, spanning three innings for Triple-A Pawtucket.
Light's conversion from starter to reliever had been a huge success, but we're seeing some control problems seep in. Opponents have 14 hits, drawn 12 walks and are hitting .318 off Light in 11.1 innings since his promotion from Double-A Portland. We can forget about Light being able to help Boston's bullpen at this time.

Light made his third appearance since being promoted to Triple-A Pawtucket, striking out one in a clean inning of relief Tuesday.
So far, so good for Light, who earned saves in his first two outings and has struck out four with no walks in three innings. Twenty of his 29 pitches thrown have gone for strikes.

Light has been promoted to Triple-A Pawtucket, Alex Speier of the Boston Globe reports.
Light has put up strong numbers since moving to the bullpen at the start of the season. In 29.2 innings at Double-A Portland, he's holding opposing hitters to just a .168 average with 32 strikeouts.

Light threw a scoreless relief inning for Double-A Portland on Tuesday. The former starter has not allowed a run in his last nine appearances (10.2 innings).
It took a few weeks for Light to adapt to his new role as a reliever, but once he did, he's been brilliant. Going back to April 26, when his ERA stood at 6.00, Light has allowed one run on five hits and nine walks while striking out 21 in 17.2 innings. His mid-90s fastball that reaches higher on occasion gives the Red Sox another power bullpen arm, a la Matt Barnes.
