G Kevin Martin led all scorers with 37 points on 14-of-27 from the floor, including 6-of-9 from beyond the arc. He scored 17 of those points in the fourth quarter, making four 3-point field goals, helping the Wolves erase a five-point deficit with under 10 minutes to play."We were moving the ball around tonight and just taking what the defense was giving us," Martin said. "Ricky (Rubio) was running the show, he was calling a lot of plays for me, so that makes it easy. It was just fun to get a 'W.'"The night was especially good for Martin considering he appeared to injure his shooting wrist on Minnesota's first possession of the game. His performance was reminiscent of his 37-point performance against the New York Knicks on Nov. 19, 2014, when it was revealed the next day that he broke his wrist early in the game.Martin said he will get X-rays on his right wrist Thursday.

Tue Oct 6 201517:28Martin expected to begin season coming off bench
Martin is expected to begin the season coming off the bench, Justin Termine of Sirius XM reports.
Interim Wolves coach Sam Mitchell told a radio show Tuesday that Zach LaVine will open the year as the starting two-guard, which means Martin is set to come off the bench, given Andrew Wiggins' status as the starting small forward. The 32-year-old Martin started 36 of the 39 games in which he played last season, but he was bothered by a number of injuries, including a fractured wrist. He's highly unlikely to approach the 33.4 minutes per game he averaged last season, but Martin is still expected to hold down a significant role as the backup shooting guard behind LaVine. It's too early to speculate exactly what kind of minutes load he'll see, but considering his proficiency as a three-point shooter (38.5 percent career; 39.3 percent last season) he should still hold decent fantasy value.

Martin was hampered by injuries for much of the season, limiting him to only 39 games (36 starts).
When Martin was in the lineup, he was arguably the Timberwolves' best player, but hamstring and wrist injuries robbed him of more than half of the season. After back-to-back 30-point games in mid-November, it was revealed that Martin had fractured a bone in his wrist, and he would remain out until Jan. 28. Martin was productive upon his return, averaging 21.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting better than 46 percent from the floor in the month of February. His efficiency declined in March (40.5% FG), and he missed six games at the end of the month with a nagging hamstring issue. Never able to establish a rhythm, Martin's second season in Minnesota was essentially a wash, as the team experienced a flood of significant injuries and careened to the worst record in the league. Martin, who is under contract for two more seasons, will make just over $7 million in 2015-16. He'll open camp as the favorite to start at shooting guard but could face competition from Zach LaVine.

Wed Apr 15 201511:16Kevin Martin: (Illness) Questionable Wednesday
Martin (illness) is officially questionable for Wednesday's regular season finale against the Thunder.
Martin missed Monday's game after feeling ill during morning shootaround, but his status for Wednesday's contest remains up in the air at this point. Given the Timberwolves' multitude of injuries, Martin's presence in the lineup could provide a boost as they close out the season.
