Former Bulls forward Andres Nocioni has agreed to a two-year contract with Real Madrid.

He'll fill a need at the forward position left by the departure of PF Nikola Mirotic, who is close to signing his first NBA contract with the Bulls. Nocioni hasn't played in the NBA since 2011-12 and it's safe to assume we won't see him in uniform in the U.S. again.

Andres Nocioni has signed a deal to play in Spain for the remainder of the season.

Nocioni will play for Caja Laboral for the remainder of the year and it is unknown if he will ever make it back to the NBA.

Andres Nocioni was claimed off waivers by PHI on Thursday March 22.

The Sixers bought out Andres Nocioni's contract on Friday.

The veteran forward played just four minutes in March, and the arrival of Sam Young signaled the end of his usefulness for the Sixers. It's possible that he'll latch on to another team's roster for the rest of the season, but he holds no interest in fantasy leagues.

Andres Nocioni started in place of Elton Brand (thumb) but had just two points in six minutes.

He's slated to start again in the next one, but Thaddeus Young, who played 32 minutes tonight, is a much better fantasy option than Nocioni.

Nocioni has appeared in just a handful of games this season and has not played more than 10 minutes in any of them. He is not a fantasy option in standard sized leagues despite his starting role.

Andres Nocioni was having his toe examined at Thursday's practice.

Nocioni's shoe was off and the trainer was examining the area. Check back for an official diagnosis soon, but he's got absolutely no fantasy value.

Andres Nocioni is playing for Penarol in Argentina without insurance on his current NBA contract.

Nocioni said that insurance would have been complicated and very expensive for the team, and he couldn't wait for that process to unfold. He said, "I love basketball, I need to play." The Sixers can't be happy with his decision in case he gets hurt, but he's not a long-term part of Philadelphia's plans.

Andres Nocioni has signed a one-month contract with Penarol in Argentina.

Nocioni will play for a very small base salary after his insurance was taken care of by the team. The club is hoping he will stay until the lockout lifts, but for now his deal will just be of the short-term variety.

Kate Fagan makes a compelling case that the 76ers might use their amnesty clause on Andres Nocioni, who is owed $6.7 million in 2011-12, with a team option the following year.

The bloated contracts of Elton Brand and Andre Iguodala both stand out, but as Fagan argues that "this amnesty clause is there to be used on players producing at very low percentages of their contract value." Nocioni averaged just 6.1 points and 3.1 rebounds in 54 appearances last season, whereas Brand and Iguodala were both productive (and might actually be tradeable). It's at least interesting to consider while we wait for the new CBA.

Andres Nocioni hasn't ruled out playing in Argentina during the lockout.

He said that playing in Europe is "not very likely," as his priority would be playing for Penarol in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Any deal would need to include an out-clause so that he can return to the 76ers after the lockout -- he's scheduled to make $6.7 million next year.

Andres Nocioni missed Thursday's FIBA Americas tournament game due to an ankle injury.

"I'm going to do everything possible to play, but only if I feel I can help," he said about Argentina's remaining games, and if he doesn't play we'll have to flag the injury going forward. Barring a change of circumstances, he does not project to have any fantasy value, anyway.

Andres Nocioni hinted that he could soon play in Europe.

In an interview with La Nacion, Nocioni said, "The Sixers already said they don't want me. And now we're in a lockout. So I'll see what I do. Playing in Europe is a possibility." Nocioni was seldom used by the Sixers last season and it's clear that he is not in the team's future plans. He would probably be better off playing in Europe at this stage of his career, so it's very possible this storyline picks up steam as the lockout continues to progress.

Andres Nocioni plans to play overseas when his current contract expires.

Nocioni was quoted as saying, "It's still very early, but I would like to honor my contract in the NBA, play for two years in Europe and then return to play in the (Argentinian) league." He's toiled in obscurity at the end of the Sixers bench and would probably be better suited for Europe at this point in his career.

Andres Nocioni started in place of Andre Iguodala (knee) on Wednesday and recorded 18 points, four rebounds, three assists and two treys.

Nocioni will return to his bench role for the playoffs, and may even fall behind Evan Turner in the rotation. While Nocioni's offensive game is ahead of the rookie's, he is incapable of guarding Dwyane Wade or LeBron James.

Andres Nocioni will start for the Sixers on Wednesday, in place of injured Andre Iguodala.

Evan Turner started the last one, but Noce gets the call tonight. Turner should see plenty of minutes off the bench.

Andres Nocioni logged major minutes for the Sixers on Monday, posting 13 points, six boards and an assist in a 95-85 loss to Orlando.

The veteran played 34 minutes and hit three three's tonight, posting a serviceable fantasy line for the first time in a while. If he was somehow in your lineup tonight, odds are you're not playing for anything right now.

Andres Nocioni (finger) returned to action on Monday, playing 15 minutes on his way to two points on 1-of-3 shooting, two rebounds, and two assists.

He should be off owners' radars unless there is an injury to one of the Sixers' wing guys, but has proven to be serviceable in the event that happens.

Nocioni's return is great for the Sixers as they pursue the East's eighth playoff seed. However, he isn't a fantasy asset while Philly's corp of swingmen are all healthy.

The Sixers are still somehow just 1/2 game out of the playoffs in the East, but Nocioni's toughness and veteran leadership are more important in reality than in fantasy leagues.
