Gordon played just six minutes in the Warriors' preseason opener Tuesday, his debut with his new team.
We're looking for a bigger role for Gordon on Thursday when the Warriors play the Trail Blazers in their second preseason tilt. Gordon's a somewhat interesting subplot in the Warriors' preseason. A one-time high-volume shooter/scorer that's fallen off the last three seasons is trying resurrect himself on the world champions' deep roster. He's looking for backup shooting guard minutes along with Leandro Barbosa (15 points, 15 minutes Tuesday) and a reconstituted Brandon Rush (five points, 16 minutes).
Sat Sep 26 201512:51Ben Gordon: Reaches Deal with Warriors
Gordon finalized a contract with the Warriors on Friday, Diamond Leung of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
The terms of the contract haven't been announced, but the NBA champs are likely bringing in the veteran guard on a one-year deal. Gordon has seen his career spiral downward in the last three seasons as a member of the Hornets and Magic, averaging less than 21 minutes of action as both squads looked to carve out more playing time for younger talent. Orlando unsurprisingly elected to decline Gordon's $4.5 million option for 2015-16, so the 32-year-old will have to settle for a more modest contract with the Warriors that probably won't come with any guarantees of winning a roster spot. As a result, Gordon will have to prove in training camp that he can be a superior source of backcourt scoring on the bench than the likes of his competition, which includes Jarell Eddie, Chris Babb, Ian Clark, and Juwon Slaten. With six other guards ahead of him on the depth chart, however, Gordon's minutes could become even more scarce than in previous years even if he is able to escape camp with a roster spot in hand.

Gordon will become an unrestricted free agent after the Magic declined the team option for 2015-16, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports reports.
Gordon averaged 6.2 points per game for the Magic last season. This option clears up $4.5 million in cap space and gives them $14.5 million total to work with. The 32 year-old signed a two-year deal last July.
Thu May 14 201512:06Gordon unlikely to return to Orlando next season
Gordon is unlikely to return to Orlando next season, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Gordon's contract is unguaranteed for next season, and considering he saw limited time in only 56 games in 2014-15, the Magic are unlikely to keep him around. The 32-year-old, once a very productive shooting guard, may have enough left in the tank to help a contender, but he's not a great fit for a young team like Orlando and hasn't been given a chance to see consistent minutes since 2012-13, when he played 75 games for the then-Bobcats.

Gordon scored 13 points (5-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT) in 19 minutes off the bench on Tuesday against the Rockets.
It's the most he's played since January 14th against the aforementioned Rockets. Gordon didn't play in the previous three games, but with Evan Fournier (hip), Willie Green (back), Devyn Marble (eye), Tobias Harris (ankle), and Dewayne Dedmon (ankle) all injured, the Magic are down to 10 healthy players. Luke Ridnour is ahead of him in the rotation, subduing talk of a potential resurgence. Doubly concerning, the Magic play two games during Week 22 (March 23-29), diffusing Gordon's long-term appeal.

Gordon saw three minutes of action against the Bucks on Thursday.
Gordon is an afterthought in Orlando as he's one of the last options off the bench on a team that's focused on procuring their young talent. This trend isn't expected to change at any point this season, leaving Gordon with very limited value unless he sees a change of scenery before the year comes to an end.
Thu Jan 29 201517:23Gordon will be active for Thursday's game against Milwaukee
Gordon will be active for Thursday's game against Milwaukee, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Gordon has not played in each of the Magic's last two games, and he saw just 12 total minutes in the previous two contests. The 31-year-old is averaging just 6.7 points per game in 15.1 minutes.

Gordon was inactive during Sunday's game against the Pacers.
Coach Jacque Vaughn plans to rotate guys in and out of the active roster now that all 15 players are healthy. Gordon played in the previous 33 games, but his fantasy value is limited due to lack of minutes.

Gordon is averaging 9.3 points in 16.1 minutes per game over the last four contests. He's also shooting 61 percent from the field and 60 percent from downtown in those games.
Gordon is shooting a career-high 48 percent from the field this season. It appears the change in scenery and limited minutes are doing wonders for his touch as he tries to shed negative perceptions of his character. However, his fantasy upside is limited since he's averaging 2.3 combined rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks in 31 games.

Gordon scored 16 points (7-11 FG, 2-4 3P) with three rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench Monday.
He got some extra court time early in the game when Evan Fournier left to get stitches, but Magic coach Jacque Vaughn stuck with the hot hand, and the result was Gordon's best scoring performance of the season since opening night. Unless an injury opens up a bigger spot in the rotation for him though, Gordon's fantasy value is limited.

Gordon is averaging 11.0 points per game off the bench through the first five games.
The absence of Victor Oladipo (face) has coach Jacque Vaughn looking for offense early on the year. While Gordon can occasionally heat up from quarter to quarter, he provides little else. In 122 minutes so far, Gordon hasn't recorded a steal or block, and his three-point stroke doesn't look like it's making a comeback, resting at a career-low 27.3 percent.

Gordon scored 22 points (7-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 6-7 FT) and added four assists in 26 minutes off the bench during Thursday's loss to the Wizards.
Gorden led all Magic reserves in minutes and played a majority of crunch time. With his primary objective to score the ball, only consider him in the deepest of leagues if you're starving for points.

Gordon could see an increased minutes load with Victor Oladipo (face) expected to miss a month following surgery Saturday.
Gordon had a productive preseason, scoring 10.1 points in 18.0 minutes per game on 45 percent shooting. Gordon finished third in scoring average behind Tobias Harris and Nikola Vucevic, but provided little else outside of points. With a successful career as a sixth man, look for Gordon to come off the bench more nights than not.

Gordon found a little bit of revenge during Monday's preseason loss against his former team, now called the Charlotte Hornets. He scored a team-high 17 points (6-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-5 FT) in 19 minutes off the bench.
The rest of Gordon's line was rather bare, consisting of a singular assist. The crowd in Charlotte actually booed the former Sixth Man of the Year, With Gordon attempting to repair his tarnished reputation, expect spotty minutes for him this season combined with a bunch of shots as a reserve.

Gordon expects to bounce back after a tumultuous tenure with the Bobcats, John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com reports. "This year is to re-establish myself and who I really am as a player," Gordon went on to say.
Gordon spent a significant portion of his offseason at team headquarters working on his game. Historically, he's performed better under coaches with previous guard experience in the NBA (Scott Skiles and Vinny Del Negro), so a collaboration with Jacque Vaughn might just be the perfect elixir. Through two preseason contests, Gordon has scored 15 points on 18 shots in 36 minutes.
Fri Jul 11 201411:12Ben Gordon inks two-year, $9M deal w/ Magic
Ben Gordon officially signed a two-year, $9 million deal with the Magic on Friday.
The second year is a team option, which mitigates the risk for Orlando, but they're still taking a gamble that the 31-year-old guard will bounce back after a career-worst season in Charlotte. The Magic are deep at SG with Victor Oladipo, Evan Fournier, Doron Lamb and Willie Green all in the mix, which gives Gordon even less upside for fantasy purposes.

Wed Jul 2 201413:10Magic give Ben Gordon a two-year, $9M deal
The Magic have agreed to sign Ben Gordon on a two-year, $9 million contract, according to Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Gordon just hit the lottery. The 31-year-old shot 34.3 percent with the Bobcats last year, including 27.6 percent from downtown, and he wound up appearing in just 19 games all season. Why the Magic thought that was worth $4.5 million annually is anyone's guess. The second year isn't guaranteed according to TNT's David Aldridge, but it's still an atrocious amount of money for a player who peaked in 2008-09. With Victor Oladipo locked into the SG job in Orlando, there's no reason to touch Gordon for fantasy purposes.

Fri Feb 28 201416:25Thunder also interested in Ben Gordon
The Thunder are interested in signing Ben Gordon once he reaches a buyout agreement.
The possible deal with the Thunder is expected to allow Gordon to be a free agent this summer. The Bulls, Clippers and Rockets are also interested in acquiring Gordon. OKC has been playing Derek Fisher 16.3 minutes per game, so it's going to be tough for BG to get minutes with them.

Thu Feb 27 201418:46Bulls, Clippers, Rockets eyeing Ben Gordon
The Bulls, Clippers and Rockets reportedly have interest in signing Ben Gordon if he's bought out by the Bobcats.
Gordon is resisting two-year contracts because he wants to hit free agency in July, but it sounds like he'll eventually sign with a contender for the rest of the 2013-14 season. The Bulls may drop out of the race if they sign Jimmer Fredette first, and Gordon's fantasy appeal is limited to deep leagues where a handful of 3-pointers are enough for value.
