Blue Jays signed INF Jared Goedert to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Goedert batted just .241/.316/.390 in 519 plate appearances this past season with the Triple-A affiliate of the Pirates. He'll be organizational depth for Toronto.

Goedert hit .279/.331/.460 with 14 home runs and 60 RBI in 86 games this past season for the Indians' Triple-A affiliate. He may get a shot with the Bucs in 2013.

The Tribe designated Goedert for assignment last week after watching him bat .199/.261/.331 across 166 plate appearances at the Triple-A level. The 26-year-old will continue functioning as organizational infield depth.

Indians activated INF Jared Goedert from the 60-day disabled list; optioned him to Triple-A Columbus.
Goedert spent most of May on a rehab assignment at Double-A Akron and has now been cleared to return to his post with the Columbus Clippers. The 26-year-old could be called to the majors later this season.

Indians prospect Jared Goedert will miss the next two weeks due to a strained right oblique.
Goedert suffered the injury to his right side this weekend in Indians camp. He climbed to Triple-A in the middle of last season and was added to the Tribe's 40-man roster in November. Look for him to see playing time in the major leagues at some point this year.

Indians purchased the contract of 2B Jared Goedert from Triple-A Columbus.
Goedert, 25, turned in a solid 890 OPS and 27 home runs in 481 at-bats this year between Double-A and Triple-A. He should be able to climb his way to the majors in 2011 as a utility middle infielder.
