Mon Apr 819:44Michael Conforto Dealing With Side Injury
San Francisco Giants manager Bob Melvin said that outfielder Michael Conforto (side) has a very slight side issue, which is why he's not in the starting lineup on Monday versus the visiting Washington Nationals. However, it's likely that Conforto will return to action for the second game of the series on Tuesday and he thinks he'll be available off the bench on Monday. With the Giants being cautious with Conforto to begin the week, the left-handed-hitting Mike Yastrzemski will start in right field and bat sixth for the Gigantes on Monday against Nationals right-hander Trevor Williams. Yaz will be looking for his first career hit against Williams after facing him only three previous times. Conforto has been red-hot in the early going -- 13-for-37 with three home runs and 10 RBI in the first 10 games -- so his fantasy managers will surely be hoping he's back in there on Tuesday.

Mon Apr 818:18Michael Conforto Not Starting On Monday
San Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Conforto (rest) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the Washington Nationals. There is no injury being reported so it's assumed that his absence is a routine rest day. It's a bit odd with a right-hander on the mound, but the expectation is he'll be back in the lineup on Tuesday. In the meantime, LaMonte Wade is starting in left field with Mike Yastrzemski moving to right field on Monday.

Sun Apr 714:54Michael Conforto Batting Cleanup On Sunday
San Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Conforto will be batting cleanup for the fifth time this season. The left-handed bat will face San Diego Padres right-handed pitcher Matt Waldron in the rubber match of the three-game set on Sunday. Conforto has been swinging a hot bat to open the season with a dominant .382/.432/.765 stat line. The 31-year-old has also hit three round-trippers, scored eight runs, and tallied 10 RBI. Matt Waldron struggled in his first start this season as he allowed nine hits and four runs across four innings against the St. Louis Cardinals, making Conforto a very nice play in DFS, as he should see prime opportunities to bring in and score runs.

Sat Mar 3022:44Michael Conforto Blasts Grand Slam On Saturday
San Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Conforto went 2-for-4 with a double and a grand slam in Saturday's 9-6 win over the San Diego Padres. He blasted a grand slam off Tom Cosgrove in the top of the eighth inning to put the Giants 9-1. The 31-year-old is off to a hit start, hitting .462 with two home runs, five RBI, and five runs scored over three games. He is San Francisco's starting left fielder and will look to improve on his 2023 campaign, where he slashed .239/.334/.384 with 15 home runs and 58 RBI over 470 plate appearances. Fantasy managers looking for a streamer or outfield help can look to pick up and start Conforto while he's wielding a hot bat.

Fri Mar 2911:31Michael Conforto Crushes Homer On Opening Day
San Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Conforto got off on the right foot on Opening Day, going 3-for-4 with a homer in a 6-4 loss against the San Diego Padres. Conforto also scored three runs while driving in one. Although the lefty was batting seventh in the Giants Opening Day lineup, he should be able to move up if he continues to hit well. If this happens he could be someone to watch, as we've seen him have great fantasy seasons in the past. For now, though, he can be left to waivers outside of deeper leagues.

Mon Feb 1921:29Michael Conforto To Be Everyday Left Fielder
San Francisco Giants president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi and the team view outfielder Michael Conforto as their everyday left fielder for the 2024 season, with Jung Hoo Lee in center field and Mike Yastrzemski in right field. Recent acquisition Jorge Soler will be the Giants' primary designated hitter. If anyone is going to steal playing time away from Conforto in left field, it would be Luis Matos. The 30-year-old left-handed hitter missed all of 2022 due to a shoulder injury and returned to hit .239/.334/.384 with 15 home runs, 14 doubles, 58 RBI, four stolen bases and 58 runs scored in 125 games in his first year in the Bay Area. Conforto has seen his power decline since the shortened 2020 season, and he could be in for more of a platoon role if he doesn't pick things up in 2024.

Mon Nov 6 202313:26Michael Conforto Will Stay With Giants
San Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Conforto opted into his 2024 contract and will make $18 million next season. Conforto enjoyed his time in the Bay Area in 2023 after hitting .239/.334/.384 with 15 home runs, 14 doubles, 58 RBI, four stolen bases and 58 runs scored in 125 games for the Gigantes. He missed all of the 2022 campaign due to a shoulder injury, so all things considered, it was a successful season in San Fran for Conforto. The 30-year-old left-handed swinger has injury concerns, but he's a career. 253 hitter with 147 home runs and 454 RBI in eight major-league seasons with the Mets and Giants. He hit a career-high 33 long balls as recently as 2019 with the Mets.

Mon Sep 25 202321:31Michael Conforto Not In Starting Lineup Monday
San Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Conforto is not in his team's lineup against the San Diego Padres on Monday. Conforto will take the night off against tough southpaw Blake Snell as the Giants open up their final homestand of the season. Fri Sep 15 202316:13Michael Conforto Activated From Injured List Friday
The San Francisco Giants officially activated outfielder Michael Conforto (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list on Friday and optioned rookie infielder Casey Schmitt to Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move. Manager Gabe Kapler said on Thursday that he was prepared to have Conforto serve as the team's designated hitter against the Colorado Rockies before that game was postponed due to rain, so Conforto should be in the starting lineup on Friday night at hitter-friendly Coors Field against Rockies right-hander Chase Anderson. The 30-year-old Conforto is back with San Fran after missing three weeks with a strained left hamstring. He has 15 home runs and 55 RBI in 370 at-bats this year and will be a sneaky DFS play at Coors Field against a pitcher that likes to give up homers.

Thu Sep 14 202319:36Michael Conforto Likely To Be Activated Friday
San Francisco Giants manager Gabe Kapler said he had outfielder Michael Conforto (hamstring) in the starting lineup on Thursday as the designated hitter against the Colorado Rockies before the game was rained out, so it appears likely that Conforto will be activated from the injured list and play on Friday against the Rockies at Coors Field. Conforto will be returning after missing three weeks with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain. The 30-year-old left-handed slugger has played in 111 games in his first year in the Bay Area with the Gigantes in 2023, slashing .251/.343/.405 with 15 home runs, 12 doubles, 55 RBI, four stolen bases and 55 runs scored in 426 plate appearances. The Giants are hoping that his return will help the team secure the final wild-card spot in the National League down the stretch.

Sat Sep 9 202300:51Michael Conforto Working Toward Return
San Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Conforto (hamstring) ran the bases well on Friday after taking batting practice earlier this week, and he will see how his hamstring responds on Saturday. The 30-year-old was placed on the 10-day injured list with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain on Aug. 25, but he could be closing in on a return or a minor-league rehab assignment soon. Conforto is slashing a respectable .251/.343/.405 with 15 home runs, 55 RBI, and 55 runs scored in 426 plate appearances after missing 2022 with a shoulder injury. Mike Yastrzemski should continue seeing the bulk of action in right field until Conforto is ready to go.

Fri Aug 25 202319:54Michael Conforto Dealing With Grade 2 Hammy Strain
Updating a previous report, the San Francisco Giants are saying that outfielder Michael Conforto (hamstring) is dealing with a Grade 2 left-hamstring strain. He was placed on the 10-day injured list on Friday, but he'll likely need more than 10 days to return to the big-league roster. Conforto was injured in Wednesday's contest against the Philadelphia Phillies. Until Conforto returns, Luis Matos and Heliot Ramos could compete for playing time in right field for the Giants. The 30-year-old Conforto is hitting .251/.343/.405 in his first year in the Bay Area with 15 home runs, 55 RBI, four stolen bases and 55 runs scored in 426 trips to the plate and 111 games. His injury comes at a bad time, as he was hitting .300 (18-for-60) with two homers and 10 runs scored in 20 games (19 starts) in August.

Fri Aug 25 202318:56Michael Conforto Placed On 10-Day Injured List
San Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Conforto (hamstring) has been placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to Aug. 24. The 30-year-old exited early during Wednesday's game and will now miss time due to a left hamstring strain. At this point, it's uncertain how long Conforto is going to be sidelined. In a corresponding move, outfielder Heliot Ramos has been recalled from Triple-A Sacramento. Ramos hasn't done much with his limited time in the big leagues this season. That being said, it's hard to imagine Ramos being worth snagging off the waiver wire.

Mon Aug 14 202312:39Michael Conforto Homers In Win Over Rangers
San Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Conforto hit a home run in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the visiting Texas Rangers. Conforto finished his day 2-for-3 with an RBI, a run scored and a walk in the winning effort. The 30-year-old left-handed slugger also homered in Saturday's contest and has been heating up at the plate lately. Since July 28, he's gone 13-for-47 (.277) with two home runs, two doubles, three RBI and seven runs scored in 15 starts for the Gigantes. In his first year in San Francisco after not playing at all in 2022 due to an injury, Conforto is slashing .242/.336/.405 with 15 home runs, 11 doubles, 54 RBI, four stolen bases and 50 runs scored in 396 trips to the plate over 102 games. He should continue playing regularly, at least against right-handed pitchers.

Tue Jul 25 202320:02Michael Conforto Resting Against A's
San Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Conforto is not in the starting lineup on Tuesday against the visiting Oakland Athletics. With Conforto starting on the bench, Austin Slater will start in right field and bat eighth against A's right-hander Tayler Scott. Conforto has gone hitless in seven at-bats in his last two games and hasn't gone deep since July 8. He's hitting .174 (4-for-23) with two RBI and one run scored in his last six games, so hopefully a day of rest will get him right. The 30-year-old left-handed hitter would probably benefit from a change of scenery at the trade deadline, but it remains to be seen if the Giants will be sellers or buyers. Overall, Conforto has hit .238/.328/.401 with 13 homers, 51 RBI, four steals and 43 runs in 294 at-bats in his first year in the Bay Area.

Sat Jul 15 202310:07Michael Conforto Exits Friday After Hit-By-Pitch
San Francisco Giants right fielder Michael Conforto (ribs) was removed late from Friday's 6-4 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 30-year-old was hit by a pitch in the rib area during the ninth inning with Brett Wisely replacing him as a pinch-runner. Conforto did not require X-rays after the contest, implying he shouldn't miss much time, if any. The former All-Star went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base before coming out of the contest. Fantasy managers should check back again closer to Saturday's game time for a Conforto status update from the Giants. He is slashing a modest .236/.328/.417 with 13 home runs, 42 RBI, two swipes, and 41 runs scored across 299 trips to the plate in 2023.

Sun Jul 2 202316:45Michael Conforto Not In The Lineup Again On Sunday
San Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Conforto (hamstring) isn't in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the New York Mets. The 30-year-old is dealing with a hamstring issue suffered during Wednesday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. There was talk about Conforto pinch-hitting on Saturday, and although it didn't happen, it seems he's trending in a favorable direction. But for now, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day, with another update expected ahead of Monday's showdown with the Seattle Mariners.

Sat Jul 1 202315:03Michael Conforto May Pinch Hit Saturday
San Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Conforto (hamstring) isn't in the starting lineup for Sunday's meeting with the New York Mets. He's dealing with a fascia sprain and has already missed a few games. Fortunately, it appears the 30-year-old is feeling somewhat better, with Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reporting he may be available to pinch hit. However, there is still a chance Conforto will end up on the injured list, so fantasy managers should keep their fingers crossed that he continues to improve in the days ahead.

Fri Jun 30 202321:44Michael Conforto Not Expected To Play This Weekend
San Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Conforto (hamstring) said he has a fascia strain in his left hamstring. It's being called mild, but he doesn't sound as if he thinks he will play in the weekend series on the road against the New York Mets. If Conforto isn't ready to play in the start of a new series against the Seattle Mariners at home on Monday, there's a good chance he'll need to go on the injured list for 10 days. The 30-year-old missed his second straight game on Friday and won't return until at least Monday. He'll finish up the month of June hitting a weak .203 (14-for-69) with a home run, 14 RBI and 20 strikeouts in 22 games. Overall, he's hitting just .236 (56-for-237) but with 12 home runs and 42 RBI in his first year in San Fran.

Thu Jun 29 202316:28Michael Conforto Not Playing Thursday
San Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Conforto (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against the Toronto Blue Jays after leaving Wednesday's game early due to left-hamstring tightness after attempting to make a catch near the outfield wall. This is certainly an injury that could send Conforto to the injured list, so fantasy managers should be prepared for the worst. In his absence on Thursday, Austin Slater is getting the nod in right field for the Giants and will hit seventh in the batting order against Blue Jays right-hander Chris Bassitt. The 30-year-old Conforto is hitting just .236 (56-for-237) on the season, but his power plays in fantasy, and he has hit 12 home runs and driven in 42 runs in 71 games.
