Moreno picked up the win with 5.1 hitless and scoreless innings in relief Tuesday against the Rangers. He struck out five and walked one.

Moreno pitched just 53.1 innings in 26 appearances at Triple-A, where he had a 2.18 ERA and a 42:16 K:BB. Moreno would seem an unlikely candidate for the starting rotation and he has pitched in relief all three times he has appeared with the Yankees. It's unclear what Moreno's future role will be for the Yankees, or even if he'll stay on the 25-man roster.

In 53.2 innings of work at Triple-A this season, Moreno has compiled a 2.18 ERA with 42 strikeouts and 16 walks. Fellow reliever Nick Goody was optioned in a corresponding move to recall Moreno.

He has posted a 2.27 ERA and 0.95 WHIP in 19 appearances with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre so far this season.

Moreno's contract was selected from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre ahead of Monday's game against the Phillies.

Moreno has been very good thus far in Triple-A, posting a sub-one WHIP to go along with a 2.27 ERA in 35.2 innings. He joins the revolving door that is the back of the Yankees bullpen along with Nick Rumbelow, replacing Danny Burawa and Jose De Paula.

Moreno's contract was selected by the Yankees on Sunday.

Moreno will provide the Yankees with a fresh arm out of the bullpen for Monday's game against the Phillies, with both of Sunday's relievers being optioned back to the minors. Over 35.2 innings with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, the 28-year-old has posted a 2.27 ERA and 0.97 WHIP with 29 strikeouts.
