Tue Mar 10 201516:58Felton will sign as free agent with Bills
Felton will sign as a free agent with the Bills, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports.
Felton only had four rushing attempts with the Vikings last season and didn't have a single carry the two seasons before that. However, he was considered perhaps the best free agent fullback on the market and Bills coordinator Greg Roman favors a heavy run attack. That means LeSean McCoy may be the one picking up Felton from Buffalo International Airport this week.

Felton scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery in the end zone in Sunday's win over the Jets.
Charles Johnson fumbled the ball into the end zone and Felton recovered the ball. Felton didn't have a carry during the game and has three all season, so this isn't a sign he's a short-yardage option.
Mon Oct 20 201414:37Felton had two carries for 21 yards in Sunday's loss to Buffalo
Felton had two carries for 21 yards in Sunday's loss to Buffalo.
Felton is barely getting on the field in offensive coordinator Norv Turner's offense, but he may be used more to provide blocking with Minnesota's offensive line struggling. However, he won't see many touches on offense.

Felton did not have a carry and was on the field for just 17 plays on offense in Sunday's win at St. Louis.
It looks like Felton is going to have a limited role in new offensive coordinator Norv Turner's offense.

Felton should be fully recovered in two weeks, but the Vikings are going to hold their Pro Bowl lead blocker out until the September 8 opener. Pro Football Focus graded Felton out as its No. 5 fullback last season, and the Vikings rewarded him with a three-year, $7.5 million extension in March.

Wed Jan 23 201310:49Vikings to lock up FB Felton early?
The Star-Tribune expects the Vikings to lock up FB Jerome Felton before free agency opens.
This is a situation Adrian Peterson will be watching closely. Operating on a one-year "prove it" deal in 2012, Felton emerged as one of the game's best lead-blockers while helping pave the way for Peterson's remarkable 2,097-yard season. He'll have plenty of leverage in upcoming negotiations.

Mon Jan 7 201315:25Felton not opposed to testing FA waters
Free agent FB Jerome Felton says he'd like to remain in Minnesota, but acknowledged that testing the free-agent waters is appealing to him.
Plugged-in beat writer Tom Pelissero believes Felton could command about $3 million a year on the open market. Any lead blocker would be crazy to not try to max out when they have the chance because the position absorbs so many collisions. "This is my first real opportunity to hit the free agency like I wanted to," Felton said. "But I want to be here, so hopefully, it works out."

Fri Jan 4 201321:16Jerome Felton slated for free agency in 2013
Vikings FB Jerome Felton, who was selected to this year's Pro Bowl, is an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
We realized Felton's last Rotoworld blurb was in June discussing an old DUI arrest, so we felt compelled to give him some updated love. Felton has been a beast this season, also earning praise from NFL Films analyst Greg Cosell. Like Vonta Leach a few offseasons back, 26-year-old Felton is going to be a hot commodity if the Vikings let him hit the market. Rotoworld's Evan Silva discusses Felton's impact -- along with Minnesota's stunning offensive line continuity -- in his Wild Card Matchups column, accessible at the link below.

Mon Mar 19 201214:10Vikings schedule visit with Jerome Felton
The Vikings have scheduled a free agent visit with FB Jerome Felton.
Felton, 25, is a poor man's Le'Ron McClain who's yet to get extensive ball-carrying opportunities in the NFL. The Vikes showed interest in Felton when he was waived by Carolina last November. The Colts had a better waiver priority.

Felton looks the part at 6-foot, 246 pounds, but he's always wanted to be more of a ball carrier than lead blocker. He won't be missed in Carolina.

Thu Sep 1 201100:42Panthers claim FB Jerome Felton
Panthers claimed FB Jerome Felton off waivers from the Lions.
The Eagles and Vikings also put in claims, but Carolina was awarded Felton with the worst 2010 record. The fit is odd with Tony Fiammetta considered locked in as the Panthers' starting fullback. Felton may only be a slightly better bet as a lead blocker, and isn't going to get any carries in Carolina.

Tue Jan 4 201113:01Jerome Felton wants a bigger role in 2010
Impending restricted free agent FB Jerome Felton indicated that he doesn't want to return to Detroit unless his ball-carrying role grows.
"Obviously, I wasn't thrilled with it," said Felton, who finished with 76 yards and no touchdowns on 22 carries. Obviously, I want to be involved and I'll go from there." Felton set a school record at Furman with 63 rushing TDs, but the Lions have shown no signs of incorporating him more and may cut ties.
