Tsao was outrighted to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, MLB.com reports.

Tsao was one of several Dodgers dumped from the 40-man roster in the last couple days due to the influx of players the team acquired in the massive three-team trade with the Marlins and Braves. The 34-year-old, who was once a top prospect in the Rockies organization, returned to the big leagues earlier in July, making his first appearance in the majors since 2007. Things didn't go particularly well for him, as he was tagged for eight runs and 15 hits over seven innings of relief duty before being designated for assignment.

Tsao was designated for assignment Thursday, Eric Stephen of SB Nation reports.

Tsao, who was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, was designated for assignment Thursday to clear roster space following a massive three-team trade. The Dodgers acquired relievers Luis Avilan and Jim Johnson, leaving Tsao as an expendable piece on the 40-man roster.

Tsao had a 2.84 ERA in 6.1 innings pitched with seven strikeouts and two walks. He appeared in for games since July 10th, earning a win and a loss.

Tsao had his contract selected by the Dodgers on Wednesday.

The 34-year-old right hander, Tsao, hasn't been on a major league club since 2007. He has notched a 3.86 ERA with 31 strikeouts and five walks in 25.2 innings at Triple-A Oklahoma City this season and will add much needed depth to the Dodgers' bullpen. The Dodgers optioned Ian Thomas and Yimi Garcia to Triple-A and designated Eric Surkamp for assignment to clear roster space for Tsao.

Tsao has reeled off four straight scoreless outings to lower his ERA to 5.54 in 13 innings for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Tsao also has an impressive 20:4 K:BB 13.8 K/9), but he'll need to keep this up for a while longer before he's on the big league squad radar.
