Howard is working out in Las Vegas with the hope of being picked up on a training camp roster, Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports reports.
Howard has mentioned that he's open to playing in the D-League once again this season and that might be the eventual route he'll be forced to take. While a training camp invite would be an opportunity, he would be a long shot to make any NBA regular season roster.
Wed Jul 9 201410:10Josh Howard hopes to latch on w/ Pelicans
Josh Howard is playing with the Pelicans' Summer League team in the hopes of continuing his NBA career.
Howard's career was derailed by multiple ACL surgeries and he spent last season in the D-League. If he can stay healthy the 34-year-old has a chance to earn a minimum contract, and the Pelicans do need depth at SF, but even if he doesn't latch on with an NBA team he'll continue to play somewhere. "I plan on making a comeback. That's my motivation," Howard said. "Pelicans, D-League, overseas. Whatever happens, just to have the opportunity to play the game that I love. You can't beat that."

Fri Oct 25 201313:58Spurs sign Josh Howard to non-guaranteed deal
The Spurs signed Josh Howard to a non-guaranteed deal on Friday.
This doesn't mean he is going to make the team, but they do need someone to back up Kawhi Leonard. Corey Maggette didn't work out, so they Spurs had similar logic with this move.

Free agent Josh Howard, who had ACL surgery in January, is hoping to start playing basketball again in September.
Howard last played for the Timberwolves and was with them when he suffered the devastating injury. He's an unrestricted free agent and if his workouts go well this fall, he could end up signing with an NBA team. However, there's no reason to put him on your radar for this year's drafts.

Josh Howard (ACL surgery) wrote on Friday that his rehab is "going great ... it was a clean tear of the ACL this time and nothing else was damaged."
In a post entitled "Staying Positive and Putting It All In Perspective," Howard goes on to thank the Wolves for signing him and he ends on a note suggesting he'll make another NBA comeback attempt. "As soon as they release me to start doing exercises, I'm going to take a page out of Adrian Peterson's book," he wrote. "Once I figure out what he did - besides his great mental ability to focus in on what he had to do to get back to his old self - the sky's the limit for me."

The Timberwolves have waived Josh Howard after an MRI revealed he has a season-ending torn ACL.
It's not the same ACL that Howard tore in 2010, but nevertheless, it's pretty evident that Howard's most productive days are behind him. The 32-year-old averaged a career-low 6.7 points in 11 games this season.

Mon Dec 17 201212:01Josh Howard (knee) will not travel w/ team
Josh Howard (knee) will not travel with the Timberwolves on the upcoming two-game road trip.
Howard will be out both Monday and Tuesday, leaving the Wolves with one less wing option on the bench. With Andrei Kirilenko back in the fold after his bout with back spasms, Howard didn't have much fantasy appeal even when healthy.

Sat Dec 15 201216:42Josh Howard (knee) out on Saturday
Josh Howard (knee) will not play against the Mavericks on Saturday.
Howard hyperextended his knee in Friday's game and did not return. The Wolves don't really need him now that Andrei Kirilenko is back and they'll be able to run some three-guard lineups now that Ricky Rubio has returned. Howard can remain on the waiver wire in the majority of leagues.

Josh Howard hyperextended his right knee in the first half of Friday's game and he will not return.
This is not the same knee that had ACL reconstructive surgery back in 2010. Howard has lost a lot of his fantasy luster with Andrei Kirilenko and can be left on the waiver wire in almost all leagues.

Fri Dec 14 201209:22Josh Howard expected to play on Friday
Josh Howard (illness) is expected to play on Friday against the Hornets, and he could start at shooting guard.
Rick Adelman said that either Howard or Alexey Shved would start at shooting guard in place of Malcolm Lee (knee), but we like Shved as the better fantasy play between the two. Shved played 31 minutes in his last game and is now averaging 25 minutes per game this season.

Josh Howard (illness) was limited in practice and is questionable for Friday's game against the Hornets.
Howard didn't play on Wednesday with the ailment, and now that Andrei Kirilenko is back, there isn't a lot of upside with Howard for fantasy owners.

Josh Howard (illness) will not play against the Nuggets on Wednesday.
Howard played just 19 minutes on Monday with Andrei Kirilenko in the lineup, so he lost a lot of his luster in almost all leagues. He should be considered questionable for Friday against the Hornets.
