Mon Dec 18 202315:03Tayron Guerrero Signs Minors Deal With Angels
The Los Angeles Angels have signed pitcher Tayron Guerrero to a minor-league deal. The right-hander hasn't appeared in the big leagues since the 2019 season, when he worked to a 6.26 ERA across 52 appearances with the Marlins. Most recently, he struggled to a bloated 11.51 ERA across 20 appearances with Triple-A Louisville in the Reds organization. The 32-year-old has appeared in 113 MLB games between the Marlins and Padres, working to a 5.77 ERA while struggling with his control by way of an elevated 13.6% BB%. The attraction to Guerrero is largely tied to his power arm, as he has averaged 99 mph on his four-seam fastball in his MLB career, a pitch he has used 79.2% of the time.
