Ogando's stay in the majors was brief --- he did not make an appearance in two games with the Phillies. In 24.1 innings with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, the 26-year-old posted a 3.33 ERA and 1.41 WHIP with a 18:11 K:BB.

Ogando was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday.

Ogando will receive his first taste of the majors at the age of 26, likely serving in a middle relief role with the Phillies. Given the roster expansion on tap in September, it wouldn't be surprising if he sticks with the club the remainder of the season.

Ogando is unscored upon and has a 7:3 K:BB ratio in 7.2 innings since a promotion to Triple-A Lehigh Valley late last month.

Ogando, 26, has an upper-90s fastball, but he doesn't always know where it is going. He was 2-3 with a 2.86 ERA and a 33:19 K:BB ratio in 34.2 innings at Double-A Reading before his promotion. He holds a spot on the Phillies' 40 man roster and could get a look in the team's pen this summer. He would be a logical choice to take Jonathan Papelbon's roster spot if the Phillies can trade him.
