Carbonell has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Sacramento, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Carbonell signed a four-year contract with the Giants last season, and has quickly progressed through the ranks. While he did struggle this season following the bump to Double-A, he has now actually been moved up to Triple-A. However, he's also been removed from the 40-man roster.

Carbonell was recalled from Double-A Richmond and designated for assignment by the Giants on Tuesday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The 24-year-old hit just .220/.261/.319 between High-A and Double-A this season, and the Giants ultimately decided his 40-man roster spot was better used on someone else. Carbonell signed a four-year, $3.5 million contract with the Giants in June of 2014 after defecting from Cuba.
